Our take
Based on the ratings of 14,229 students, a sample of their written reviews and the syllabus, as the course stood in November 2025. No course pays to be reviewed.
This is a short, structured course on running a hire from start to finish. It runs about two hours across 42 lectures in six sections, following five steps: build the job description and ideal candidate profile, get the word out, screen resumes and phones, interview, then decide and negotiate the offer. It is built by Eazl, a business school, and taught by Davis Jones. The audience is first-time hirers: founders, team leaders and HR newcomers. Nothing is required going in.
Reviewers like the short lessons, the clear framework and the practical comments from HR experts. One says the accent is easy to follow. Several liked the role plays with AI and the exercises. The complaints are consistent. One experienced recruiter calls it basic. A few want more worked examples and real interview recordings, and one beginner found the written material heavy and confusing. One reviewer called it Eazl product placement with little added value. Another notes that a task needs the desktop app.
Of 14,229 ratings, 6,780 are five stars and 5,502 are four, so most reactions are positive, with fours nearly as common as fives. Only 300 are one or two stars. It was last updated in November 2025, and one reviewer mentions the AI features as new. At two hours it is a quick primer, not a deep program. For a first hire, it is a sensible start. Someone who recruits for a living may find little new.
Pros
- Short lessons, about 2 hours in total, that reviewers say hold attention without losing them
- Follows five clear steps from job description through offer negotiation
- Role plays with AI and four exercises give some hands-on practice
- HR expert comments and an easy-to-follow accent get praised
Cons
- Reviewers with recruiting experience find the tips basic
- Some want more worked examples and real interview recordings
- At least one reviewer felt it leans on Eazl product promotion
The presenters were very knowledgeable and provided good tips. The sessions were in short snippets, which I liked.
Labeled intermediate, but with no prerequisites it really suits beginners and first-time hirers.

Scenario is a little weird for someone who is not a hiring manager, plus if I am going into an interview with a candidate I would have their CV at hand as well as an idea of the role.

It was really an insightful program which covers the fundamentals of the hiring process. It would have been above expectations if there were more examples of creating the ICP & JD and real-life interview recordings that show the fundamentals in practice in real time. But still, I enjoyed and learnt a lot. Thanks, Davis, for creating this amazing course. It's really helpful for first-time founders like me.

Prompt engineering was a good topic which I learned today, often I used to ask very generic questions in AI tool and work using the content it provides me. This Prompt engineering technique will certainly help me getting the desired outcome for Ai tools.
