Are you a music maker, aspiring producer, or professional producer looking to up your game? This is the place to start.

Ableton Live can be a little intimidating. It's a powerful program, and it has some oddities that you have to get used to. But don't worry - that's what I'm here for.

Hi - my name is Jason, and I am one of only a handful of Ableton Certified Trainers. That means I've proven myself both as an expert and as an educator to the Ableton corporation, and they have given me their stamp of approval. I am the only Ableton Certified Trainer who also has a Ph.D. in music and a university professor as well.

Years ago I made my first Ableton class - a six-part class focused on Ableton Live 9. I learned from that and improved it in my top-rated Ableton Live 10 class, and a top-rated Ableton Live 11 class. Now I'm bringing that experience to the Live Lite and Live Intro users.

What is this Ableton Live Intro and Lite Course all about?

In this class, we are going to learn Ableton Live Lite and Intro, and every aspect of the program. We will focus on how to do everything possible in Ableton Live, and you will finish this course as an expert in Live Lite and Intro. Whether you have experience in music production already or not, this is the ultimate class to learn how to use the Ableton Live software for any genre of music.

This is a relatively short class - about 3.5 hours, but we are going to cover a lot of content.

My Promise to You:

I am a full-time Music Producer and Educator. If you have any questions please post them in the class or send me a direct message. I will respond within 24 hours. And if you find this class isn't for you, I am more than happy for you to take advantage of the 30-day money-back guarantee. No questions asked.

What makes me qualified to teach you?

I've already told you that I am one of only a few Ableton Certified Trainers. I also have a Ph.D. in music, I am a university music professor, and have a long list of awards for teaching.

But more importantly: I use Ableton Live 11 every day. I produce music professionally, and I stay on top of all the latest producing techniques, workflows, and styles. As you will see in this class, I just love this stuff. And I love teaching it.

Let's get started!

See you in lesson 1.

All best,

Jason (but call me Jay...)

This was a good match for me. Not knowing the software but knowing music theory brought a lot of things together for me. I enjoy the depth of the presentation without going too fast.

Your lecture / teaching is super chilled, informative and very easy to understand. Thank you for your amazing work. If ever you create a training course on the Novation Launchkey Mini Mk3, I will buy it, no questions asked. My way of asking for one lol. Thank you again sir.

Good coverage of the basic features of Lite; should include an update now that Comping is available in Lite 12. P.S. The amp that's on in the background for the first half of the lessons is very distracting. :)

By Terry Farrelly on 2/19/2025

Well presented initial overview on a complex music software system. Good place to start to learn about Ableton Live, especially if you only have the Lite/Intro version.

By Eva Rolando Quintanilla on 11/22/2024

He goes through the meaning of Ableton Lite and for a beginner like me I’m learning everything ableton Lite so far.

By Ronald Werth on 11/7/2024

I feel like he is rambling, a lot of words but not a lot of information. I don’t like the way he assumes everyone is using MAC, Windows has different wording and shortcuts. Now that he is making music I’m learning what I was looking for. He is teaching Lite 11 and I have 12, but it’s not very different.

By Chuck Beardsley on 3/22/2023

So far the class is understandable, engaging and simple-just what I need as a beginner. I'm usually able to duplicate what he's doing, which is also great for a beginner. I've done frustrating software classes where I can't get my software to look like or do what the instructor is talking about. so far so good on this one.

This course contains all the pertinent information to get up and running in Ableton Live Lite/Intro quickly, and concisely. If you're just diving in this is an EXCELLENT way to start, and I couldn't recommend it more. As far as I'm concerned this is required watching for anyone just getting started (I wish it had been available when I was just starting in music production).

By Jonathan Cespedes on 12/15/2022

Thank you!, it really explained how to get started on ableton which seemed like a maze just a few months back, I was lucky to stumble upon this class and now I know the next steps to take but before that I will play around with what I know to get the hang of it and have fun with it which is a very important part of the process. :)

By Dennis Hamilton on 11/15/2022

I have enough experience with Installation (having Live Lite for years) that I could get through the overview of installation. I'm not certain how that works well for a newbie. However, I think there is enough Ableton information so that a smoother on-ramp may not be required.
