Course Description
Hi, thank you for your interest in our Self Paced 12 hour S.A.M.H.I. Advanced Dual Diagnosis Training (Substance Abuse & Mental Health Interventions), which is the next level after our 2 hour S.A.M.H.I. Chemically Speaking Two (Brief Intervention) training program.

If people want a certificate of attendance and also qualify for 12 points of CPD (Continuing Professional Development) for their professional peak body (APS, ACA, AASW, CPA, PACFA, ACWA etc), they need to complete the full intensive training. If people obtain the promotional rate from Udemy, then they receive a certificate from Udemy at the completion of this course.
If your peak body requires a certificate from the Optimal Health Group instead, participants need to pay the normal fee of $195 from the link on our website (dualdiagnosistraining . com . au);
If you need a certificate from Optimal Health Group, please contact us on george@dualdiagnosistraining.com.au to enrol and pay the difference between the promotional rate and the normal $195.
This advanced training covers all of the current evidence based, best practice in the Alcohol & Other Drugs (AOD) and Mental Health from an integrated, holistic framework.
In June 2018, S.A.M.H.I. launched its 6 module, 12 hour course on Dual Diagnosis Training (www.samhi.online). This training will equip workers to be able to deliver brief & early interventions to people struggling with substance abuse and mental health issues, as well as advanced psychotherapeutic skills. This is the same as the comprehensive 2 day advanced training that is being delivered live across Australia and explained on our Dual Diagnosis Training Australian website;
The reason why S.A.M.H.I Dual Diagnosis Training has gone online is to expand the coverage of the highly acclaimed, comprehensive 2 day advanced Dual Diagnosis Training designed and presented by George Patriki. George and many of his staff will be still conducting live training under the banner of Dual Diagnosis Training in conjunction with the online adapted S.A.M.H.I course. We have very specifically and deliberately made this course very affordable at $195. This is half price. As someone who is quite new to the AOD space, this was an amazing course covering all topics relating to substance dependence, and I really appreciated the psychoeducation around the brain and neuroplasticity because often times the clients don't know what is happening inside their bodies while using substances. I feel better equipped and confident to be honest going into the therapy room with this knowledge and know that I can reflect back on these amazing slides. Thank you for putting together this - it is priceless.

I am a Residential Youth Worker supporting young people who experience mental health challenges, and some who also struggle with substance use and addiction. Having faced my own experiences with addiction and mental health throughout my life, I bring a deep understanding and empathy to my work. I am passionate about continuing to grow in this field and hope to one day work primarily in the rehabilitation sector. I believe this course will equip me with the knowledge and skills to support others in their recovery journeys, while also furthering my own personal growth and healing.

This course is a must if you are someone with any sort of addiction or have a loved one who does. It’s also great if you are passionate about mental health and wish to grow your knowledge. I wrote down everything I needed to and downloaded some of the teachings. I am also excited about the scriptural reference it had to the spiritual aspect of life. I’m happy to have taken this course!.

As a social worker, this course has provided some excellent insights and content that I will be able to take directly into the workplace. I am particularly excited to begin using the cost analysis which will open the door to some really robust conversations. Thanks George for taking me on this journey; I would love to attend a live class if you ever head to Victoria.

I like the content so far and that multiple different people speak, but it seems very informational so far. I also extol the way that ol' Georgio just kept it real during the videos. Have a safe and sober 24!! Something else I forgot to mention is that I actually had bought a copy of Dr. Leafs' book Switch On Your Brain! YEA! Probably in like early 2018 or so when I was at a VA hospital actually during my stay there while getting sober. When I seen that on your video I was like that sounds familiar. LOL

I don't think the every day person would truly realize until they are engrossed in this course, the vital requirement of understanding how our minds work and how it impacts every area of our life, and those around us. I now absolutely love the holistic approach to understanding and bettering our lives and more importantly to be able to help others in need. This course has actually made me become infatuated with how the brain works and I am looking forward to learning more about this. I will most definitely be volunteering my time to one of these great organisations to improve the health of the community.

This is an excellent introductory course for any person with a desire to have a wider knowledge base for understanding substance abuse as related to overall mental health. It is also an excellent refresher course for a practitioner. Mr. Patriki presented in-depth and detailed information in an easy to follow, sequential manner. Concepts were presented, explained and clarified via use of a variety of methods which helped to keep this learner engaged and take advantage of the opportunities to better understand the material. I appreciate all the .pdf material provided to alleviate the copious note-taking that would have been otherwise!

It was very good. I work with young men at risk and a big part of them not being able to move forward and have a positive outcome in society is addiction issues. Since a big part of my job is to build relationships with the young men, I believe that I can be part of the support system that will help move young men into a positive healthy space in time.

Initally, I wasn't to happy seeing a promotional commercial in the beginning of a training. Seems inappropriate to have included it. But this is my opinion. Now for the training, I have to say it has to be one of the BEST substance abuse trainings I have had in my social work career. Amazing organization of topics, great use of media, great discussion topics and presenter. I am very happy to have selected this training. Thank you!

This has been an eye opener for me. I have been around people afflicted by poor mental health and chronic substance abuse issues for the better part of my adult life. What I've learned through this course has taught me that, addictions coupled with poor mental health conditions are enormously complex, and will require great patience, tons of love and an ocean of understanding to work through. Thank you George for galvanising me toward accepting this field of work as a new positive challenge, and another way forward to help others.
