The course is absolutely concrete. Very useful and the teacher is skilled as the teaching is highly effective and incorporates styles/methods that you will later on learn in the course. I also enjoyed the frequency of quizzes.

This course provides an exceptional opportunity for personal and professional growth, particularly beneficial for those in the training and development industry. This course is designed to provide you with the confidence to become an outstanding instructor or trainer. Material presented was informative but often felt lacking in deeper detail. For a module that emphasizes the difference between initial reactions to training and a demonstrable difference in behaviour, there didn't seem to be much of a focus on comprehension of the subject matter herein. More disruptive to my actual learning throughout this course was the poor pacing of the videos. The instructor spoke too quickly and the slides often didn't line up with what was being said aloud. I frequently found myself pausing videos or rewinding just to have enough time to take basic notes. The "exercises" were paper-thin regurgitations of the points in their exact order. I found myself tuning them out because it quickly became clear that the "correct" answers would be presented in the same order as the lesson, and it felt like there wasn't an effort made to write the "questions" to actually test whether or not we were comprehending the material. This instructor clearly has a great deal of knowledge and the actual structure of the content (beginning with the basics of what training requires in the first place, how to understand training needs, build a curriculum accordingly, implement and evaluate that curriculum) is coherent and deeply interesting. However, the content delivery is in dire need of better pacing, and the quizzes and questions should actually test the participants' knowledge and not simply serve as another repetition of the material.

So far it's a good match for me. I would like the instructor to pause between segments of each module... sometimes, he continues from one concept to another as if the new concept is a bullet point of the previous one. For example providing the phases of developing curriculum... a brief pause before proceeding to the next would help with note taking and mental organization of the content received.

The content covered in this course was great, and I appreciated the case studies and examples throughout. My only feedback would be to, at some point, refresh the course to be slightly more visually appealing and improve the audio quality. I can understand everything perfectly, but this course feels somewhat dated regarding production quality. Other than that, thank you for sharing your knowledge and referencing other resources so I can explore those in greater detail. This is a great starter's guide to ID and ADDIE.

The content delivered is very good. However, there are a few aspects that can be worked upon to make it better and more interesting: 1. The training is more like a monologue - There are no adequate pauses in between it just runs like a tape recorder, by the time you try to let the previous information sink in, it switches to the next topic immediately. 2. The voice comes before the text, once the speaker ends speaking, thereafter bullet points follow, I would suggest the content comes on the slide before the trainer starts to speak. 3. The delivery of training does not seem very engaging, it's just a recording playing where the clarity of speech and words is not very good. They seem to mix up, sometimes making it difficult to understand and comprehend what has been taught or said. If these things are worked upon, it is great training. Thank you.

It was a pleasurable experience full of information and challenges/barriers. I understand that the trainer is not native to the English language, neither am I, and that makes it challenging for him to deliver the course, but I like it how the wording he uses is simple, concise and easily understood, so that makes it up for the monotone narration. Overall, with all the information and resources shared, I believe this course is a profitable ROTI.

Sorin does a great job explaining foundations of starting a course and how to coach those who would like to start. She includes a number of things that I didn't even think about doing when I started my training business, so it's great to know what my missing pieces are. I'm looking forward to going through the rest of the program!

Hi Sorin, Thanks for putting this class together! The supplementary documents are great resources, and it was helpful to externalize the steps of a process that I otherwise intuit haphazardly. Two suggestions: 1) ADDIE is the title of the course and the main framework. However, the acronym is not defined until Section 3. The course would benefit from defining the acronym at the outset during the introduction, to help orient students towards the process. 2) Some other students mentioned this already in the comments, that several quiz questions are worded in a confusing or ambiguous way. Looks like you've made a note of those already, but just wanted to reinforce clarifying the questions. Thanks again!

I had a hard time reading the descriptors for Knowles' diagram. Might want to change the color to white. There were some words that I couldn't understand due to the pace and accent of speaker. Also had a hard time determining where you were quizzing (practicing) when deciding which answers were correct. Good information though. Understood the ROTI much better than the grad class I took and why this section is difficult to calculate. Great examples for each categories (e.g. Job aids: quick reference for tasks/processes, OTJ reinforcement, usually checklist).
