Course Description

Building an attractive, useful and usable website is difficult, and can take much time, thought and creativity. Even so, the quality of a site's user interface can be the most important part of a site's success. This is especially true as websites and web apps' become more complex, feature rich, and mobile responsive.
This course begins with a detailed presentation of over 250 usability software tools. I have spent over a year researching and categorizing these tools, and have made this research available to you on my website. Many of the tools have no cost associated with them. Much of the course content will be referring to a lot of the better software tools and discussing when and where these tools can be best applied in the context of User Experience Design.
It is important to point out that I am not endorsing, promoting or encouraging anyone to buy or sign up for any of the software tools, books or resources that are presented on the site. The purpose of presenting the research and rankings of the software tools, books and resources, is to make you aware of the existence of such tools and to help you to make a decision on what types of tools will benefit you in the field of User Experience Design.
The topics presented in this course are not necessarily required to be viewed in a linear fashion. Feel free to choose topics that are of interest to you and view those lectures about which you would most like to learn.

Dr. Bailey is an excellent teacher, and has conducted seminars and training for computer professionals and web designers throughout the world in classrooms and in online media. He has been on the faculties of several schools, including Columbia University and Stevens Institute of Technology, is a web designer, consultant and is the author of many research articles, technical reports, and several books. He holds a Ph.D. degree from Rice University in human performance psychology', and has an international reputation as an author, consultant, researcher and lecturer.

Dr. Bailey is the president of Computer Psychology, Inc., an education, research and consulting company based in the United States. Before starting his own company, he worked for many years as a usability professional in the prestigious Human Performance Technology Center' at Bell Laboratories in New Jersey.

WHAT IS THIS?? Boring chapters and chapters about a single website (terribile in my opinion). I expected an advanced course, this is absolutely nothing!

This 'course' just lists a bunch of tools, which could be found in the website of the author and compares pouplarity of them. It doesn't actually learn you anything.

The instructor is boring and the content is antiquated. This seems more like a promotion for the instructor's website than providing advanced information about user experience design. In fact, even the website he's promoting is antiquated. Anybody with the slightest clue about UX design should be very disappointed. The content is basic, unimaginative, irrelevant, and incomplete. Don't waste your time.

It's not about usabiluty at all, it's about Dr. Bob Bailey and his own website (which seems rather outdated and uncomely to me, actually) The course is poorly structured and I cannot find any useful information for me.

Well researched and very extensive summary of usefull tools for testing of usability of websites. Many new methods to test various parts of the websites.

The instructor doesn't teach useful information about the field of UX Design. Instead he gives you a very long tour of the website he created as a UX resource. He recommends some books and brings up some topics like user research, card sorting and others but he teaches nothing about them. He shows you where to find the information on his website, webusability.com.

This course is just an overview of the instructor's website pertaining to UX tools. It breaks down each little section of the site in each of the videos and I didn't learn anything I couldn't find out on my own by just navigating to the site. Very disappointed.
