Course Description
Agile is not Scrum. It is not Jira. And it is definitely not a collection of ceremonies.
Agile is a way of thinking about customers, products, teams, decisions, learning, and change.
And in a world increasingly shaped by AI, those skills matter more than ever.
This completely updated 2026 edition of Agile for Beginners will take you from zero knowledge of Agile to a practical understanding of how modern Agile teams and organizations actually work.
Rather than teaching you to blindly follow a framework, we'll start with the why behind Agile. You'll learn how teams understand customers, test assumptions, prioritize work, organize themselves, make decisions, respond to change, and continuously improve.
Then we'll explore the frameworks, roles, tools, and practices that help make those principles work in real organizations.
Whether you're joining an Agile team, moving into product or project work, exploring a career as a Product Owner, Scrum Master or Agile Coach, leading a team, or simply trying to understand what everyone means when they talk about "Agile" — this course will give you the foundation you need.
What you'll learn
We'll start with the foundations of the Agile mindset: customer value, experimentation, feedback, continuous learning, outcome ownership, empowerment, growth mindset, and evidence-based decision-making.
Then we'll move into customer research and product development. You'll learn how Agile teams:
identify and understand their customers
build personas and explore customer problems
turn needs into user stories
create and test hypotheses
use prototypes, MVPs, experiments, and A/B testing
conduct usability testing
interpret customer feedback and product data
use feedback loops to continuously improve products
You'll see why customer collaboration is so central to Agile — and why listening to customers does not mean blindly building everything they ask for.
Scrum, Kanban, Lean & Agile frameworks
Once the foundations are clear, we'll explore the frameworks and practices you've probably heard about.
You'll learn the logic behind Scrum, Kanban, Lean, sprints, boards, backlogs, work in progress, estimation, story points, prioritization, retrospectives, and continuous improvement.
But you won't simply memorize terminology.
We'll constantly ask:
Why are we doing this? What problem does it solve? And when should we do something differently?
Because a team can run perfect Scrum ceremonies, use Jira every day, and still not be Agile.
Backlogs, prioritization & planning
You'll learn how Agile teams turn ideas into manageable work and make difficult choices when resources are limited.
We'll explore:
user stories and work items
product backlogs
backlog refinement
prioritization
estimation and story points
Definition of Ready and Definition of Done
iterative planning
roadmaps and longer-term goals
balancing customer value, effort, feasibility, desirability, and viability
You'll also discover why Agile does not mean "no planning" — and how Agile teams combine long-term direction with short-term flexibility.
Agile tools: Jira, Trello, Asana & Monday
We'll look inside several popular digital tools used by Agile teams, including Jira, Trello, Asana, and Monday.
You'll see how teams visualize work, manage backlogs and boards, organize sprints, track progress, and create transparency.
More importantly, you'll learn why a tool should support your process — not define it.
We'll also discuss scalability, automation, integrations, and the growing role of AI inside modern work-management platforms.
Agile roles & organizations
Who actually does what in an Agile organization?
We'll explore the roles of:
Product Owner
Product Manager
Scrum Master
Agile Coach
Agile leaders
cross-functional team members
You'll learn why Product Owners aren't team managers, why Scrum Masters aren't project administrators, and why Agile Coaches should ultimately help teams become less dependent on them.
We'll also explore cross-functional teams, T-shaped specialists, career development, performance management, servant leadership, psychological safety, empowerment, and accountability.
And we'll look at the famous Spotify model — squads, tribes, chapters, and guilds — not as a framework to copy, but as inspiration for designing modern Agile organizations.
Agile in the age of AI
AI is changing how teams work.
It can generate code, analyze feedback, help refine backlogs, identify patterns, create content, automate administrative work, and dramatically accelerate many tasks that once required human effort.
So do we still need Product Owners? Scrum Masters? Agile Coaches? Agile teams?
We'll explore where AI can genuinely help — and where human judgment, customer empathy, strategic thinking, collaboration, leadership, prioritization, and common sense remain essential.
The goal isn't to compete with AI.
It's to learn how to build teams where humans and AI work together effectively.
Agile beyond software
Agile originated in software development, but its principles are now used far beyond software.
You'll learn how to think about Agile in different contexts by asking questions such as:
How expensive is change?
How long is the development cycle?
How quickly can we get feedback?
What can we safely experiment with?
What are the consequences of failure?
How much decision-making power does the team have?
Rather than forcing Scrum onto every team, you'll learn how to identify the Agile principles and practices that actually make sense for the context.
We'll also bust some Agile myths
By the end of the course, you'll be able to challenge common misconceptions such as:
"Agile is dead."

One of the best Agile, Scrum, and Kanban fundamentals courses ever. It's well-structured and insightful. The instructor makes sure to always close the gap between terminology and real-world scenarios. What makes it truly unique is that it honestly teaches you that there are no silver bullets and emphasizes the merging of several complementary frameworks to be truly "Agile".

I really appreciated how she focused not just on what Scrum is, but also why each principle matters, which helped me grasp the bigger picture. Her examples, explanations, and teaching style made the sessions engaging and meaningful. Overall, a truly valuable learning experience! Best Regards Siddik

I really like the way the lecturer explains the material. She consistently finds the right words to clarify not only what Agile is, but also why it matters, which helps me truly understand the context.

Overall it was good, but I would request if you can also add some notes while sharing your thoughts or on the topics.

The course is largely video-based, which makes it difficult to quickly review or reference key concepts, so providing supporting text material or PPTs would be beneficial. Additionally, the course lacks practical, real-world use cases; for example, an end-to-end demonstration of how Agile is applied in developing a billing software would greatly enhance understanding and practical applicability.
