Course Description

Concurrency allows multiple tasks to run at the same time. Understanding concurrency is an important part of iOS app development. When used correctly, it can create a pleasant user experience and can even avoid crashing your app. In this course, you will learn about the new concurrency features available in Swift using Async/Await and Actors.

Async/Await and Actors are the future direction of concurrency in Swift and this course will teach you the concepts and practical uses of these modern features. After completing this course, you will be comfortable to add these new features in your applications.

Requirements:

  • Xcode 13 or above

  • Knowledge of Swift language is recommended

  • macOS Catalina or above

  • Knowledge of SwiftUI is recommended

  • Passion for development and an open mind

  • This is not a beginners course

Let’s check out the contents discussed in the course:

  • Understanding Concurrent Programming

  • Getting Started with Async & Await (Dates App)

  • Understanding MVVM Design Pattern

  • Dates App Using MVVM

  • Exposing your Functions as Async/Await Using Continuation

  • Project: News App

  • Understanding Structured Concurrency in Swift

  • Project: Random Images and Quotes

  • AsyncSequence

  • Actors

Who this course if for:

  • Students who want to learn about new concurrency features in Swift language.

  • Anyone interested in learning modern concurrency programming techniques using Swift.

  • Students who want to learn the new Async/Await and Actor features.

Don’t take my word for it, take a look at some of the amazing reviews for my other courses.

Great course, Azam skips the basic stuff yet does CLEARLY explain the important concepts that most courses miss or fail to provide clear details about. It looks like he keeps the course up to date as well, either by adding updated lessons or notes explaining changes in the swift framework in the notes.

This course was above my expectations indeed. Very valuable, and thank you Azam.

The last 6 months I've followed many courses, but this Section by far has helped my understanding of ObseravableObject, @State etc.Im sure I'm going to run into some problems putting this into practice, but at least I have this course to come back to reference.

As every course by Azam is awesome, full of information and Great explanations and examples, simply amazing. Azam is such a Great Teacher. If you really want to learn and make good use of your money, he is the right Choice.

I learned about async/await in the Swift language. It's similar to other programming languages but I wanted it to be in action in Swift and this course showed perfect examples for that.

I really enjoyed the Async/Await and Actors course! The instructor explains the material exceptionally clearly, which allowed me to deeply grasp these important, yet sometimes complex, concepts of asynchronous programming in Swift. I particularly want to highlight how easily and understandably Actors were presented, which significantly simplified their mastery. I'm very grateful for such a high-quality and structured approach to learning. I definitely recommend this course to anyone looking to understand modern approaches to concurrency and parallelism in Swift!

This is an excellent course on Swift Concurrency. Everything is clearly explained and easy to follow. This is a hard topic and there are many resources, but I found this course cleared up a lot of confusion for me. There's a perfect amount of repetition to ensure the concepts are well understood and sink in quickly. Highly recommended!

Nice course for newbies who are not familiar with Modern Concurrency. People who are after WWDC presentation probably won't find a lot of interesting stuff in this course in my opinion. Author made a great job preparing interesting case studies.

Great course overall. It doesn't actually have anything new compared to the mentioned documentation, but it's a great practical course with consolidated content for the ones that don't like to read documentation only.

By Anonymized User on 10/13/2022

Amazing! Just if the backend used on glitch could be explained more how to set it up as I could not and ended up using some other public API and with a different example but same concept.

By Denis Dzyuba on 2/22/2022

It provides all the expected answers – albeit sometimes is a bit short on reasons why things happen/need to be done a certain way (maybe because this was recorded during early, beta stages of the features: now, when I’m watching it, it has long been released)

By Hiroshi Tazawa on 10/8/2021

This course is really great to get the majority of async/await information for such a short commitment. I spent some time reading some articles and videos before, but I was not able to understand the entire picture of this new feature, but once I complete this course, I completely understand how to use async/await, what new concurrency flow is, and the concept of Actor.

By Mihai Dorhan on 7/26/2021

This course is essential in learning the new features of Swift in 2021 -> it's clear, explicit, complete. The examples are good, the apps are useful. Overall, it is worth checking it out !
