Course Description

Welcome to my iOS 15 Course! If you're looking for a course that is fun, for complete beginners, and gets straight to the point, then this is the course for you.

Other mega courses on Udemy offer 40+ hours of video content, but I wanted to create a course that was more manageable and didn't include any fluff. In each video I dive straight into the topic, and don't waste your time going over things that you don't really need. I only focus on the essentials, and I give you hands-on practice so that you can easily master the things we are learning!

This course is designed to be taken over a two week period, with 1-2 hours dedicated to learning each day. This course is easy to commit to because you won't get overwhelmed with a mountain of content, and you don't need to quit your day job to learn how to code!

Over the past four years I've taught over 240,000 people how to code, and I am a self-taught programmer so I know what it feels like to start from scratch. I care about your learning, but even more importantly... I care about you! I know your time is valuable, so I promise not to waste it.

Apps we create:

  • People Counter

  • Text Formatter

  • Emoji Dictionary

  • ToDo List

  • API/JSON App

And I'll show you how to submit your own apps the App Store! If you've ever had the goal of sharing your app idea with the world, this is the course for you.

Feel free to take a free preview of this course to see if it's a good fit for you. I am so confident that you will love my course. You have nothing to lose, so come join me and let's get started!

Nick Walter

Hi! I'm Nick, and I love to code. About five years ago I decided that I wanted to learn to code, but I had limited access to programming resources, and I was getting frustrated with all of the YouTube videos and online tutorials out there. I experimented, struggled, and definitely failed a lot, but I finally got the hang of it, so I decided that I wanted to change the way that people learned to code, and I started teaching. My experience as an online student has directly influenced my teaching style, because I know what it is like to be in your shoes.

When Apple announced their new programming language, Swift, in 2014, I made my big online teaching debut and created the internet's first Swift course. Since that time, I have become a full-time online instructor and I now have courses not only in Swift, but also in iOS, Android, Django, Kotlin, Python, HTML, Blockchain, etc. I have also created five iOS apps from scratch that are currently live in the App Store and are being used by thousands of users worldwide.

I love sharing my excitement for coding with my students, and I try to make learning as fun and as easy as possible. Thanks for being part of my coding community!

Nick has done a terrific job in explaining the fundamentals of app development. He's a very personable, likable instructor with a knack for clearly explaining some of the subtleties that a person new to app development might encounter. Highly recommended for novice developers!

This course was the perfect choice for me. I had to learn Swift and SwiftUI for iOS programming over a long weekend to solve a problem in a very short time. With this 8-hour course, I was able to learn all the points relevant to me in the given time, such as SwiftUI layouts, different views and switching to them, global variables and structures, programming paradigms in Swift, saving data with Core Data and much more to learn. The content of the course was understandable, the voice was pleasant and understandable, the apps weren't the best - but really perfect for learning, both in terms of functionality and scope. Small and handy - but understandable and not lengthy and not too playful. For me the perfect introduction to app programming with Swift and SwiftUI. Thanks for that Nick! This was my first Udemy course. So I have no experience with other courses here. But I'm looking forward to the next one!

Excellent SwiftUI introductory course. Well suited for beginners, but everybody interested in SwiftUI will learn something new, especially because the course is up to date. Nice introductions to Core Data and Getting Web content.

I am a beginner in Apple development. This course was very good in my opinion, especially the first 4 sections are AMAZING! I do have some previous knowledge (kotlin) and for me it was easy to follow his instructions/ explanations. I found it hard to follow the 5. section but i think that's not too bad. The API section was not detailed enough (maybe because i did not quite get section 5), it was more of a "he codes and i follow" thing.

This is the 3rd course I had to buy for IOS 15 and SwiftUI and finally, I have had a grasp of it. It's truly suitable for beginners, and it gives you a solid foundation to build on. Being a pro Android developer, I just needed to be competent in IOS as well and I am getting there. Thank you Nick.

I am a Full Stack Developer by trade specializing in multiple languages (including UIKIt ). I am self taught for the most part. I wanted to have good Udemy reference for SwiftUI. This is actually a good reference, especially for beginners. I am actually doing all of the lessons and examples on my iPAD using the new Swift Playgrounds 4 that let's you code your apps right on the device without the need for full blown XCODE installation, really fun. So all in all, it's worth the small investment to have for reference. As I am finishing the course I am updating my rating to a 5 star. He goes over some good concepts, particularly on APIs, Core Data and Uploading to the App Store. Being a seasoned developer by profession, I must say, it's very good course. And as stated before, you can do most of the examples on your iPAD until you get to the CoreData part. This allows you to not have to purchase a mac if you have pretty descent iPAD already.. Great Job

I really like the course, it is a very condensed introduction to Swift and SwiftUI and makes you want to learn more. I gave up on another course in the past but I could follow Nick's cource with fun and that led to perseverance until the end

I like this course because I could learn some new things and also the section 'Uploading Your App to the App Store' was really interesting to me because this process can be sometimes quite tricky. Thanks to Nick for this SwiftUI course and hopefully he will bring another course about SwiftUI /Swift soon.

I've bought like 6 of Nick's courses at this point Django 2.2, Django 3, iOS 14 apps using swift 5, Mastering Django, the complete guide to bitcoin, list goes on lol. Nick is a very relatable and funny developer; he definitely knows how to teach! If you are trying to learn anything development wise (not just ios), check out his other courses! He's very good at what he does. Edit: While I do already know how to code in other languages, I mainly use Nick's courses as a guide on what's new, syntax clarification, and things of that nature :)

I'm halfway through the course and extremely excited. This is so far the best and most entertaining course I have ever bought here on Udemy. Nick's enthusiasm is so contagious, you don't want to stop. Thank you Nick for the ultra awesome course, I hope there will be more Swift courses from you soon.
