Hi! I'm Nick, and I love to code. About five years ago I decided that I wanted to learn to code, but I had limited access to programming resources, and I was getting frustrated with all of the YouTube videos and online tutorials out there. I experimented, struggled, and definitely failed a lot, but I finally got the hang of it, so I decided that I wanted to change the way that people learned to code, and I started teaching. My experience as an online student has directly influenced my teaching style, because I know what it is like to be in your shoes.

Apple announced their new programming language, Swift, in 2014, I made my big online teaching debut and created the
internet's first Swift course. Since that time, I have
become a full-time online instructor and I now have courses not only in Swift,
but also in iOS, Android, Django, Kotlin, Python, HTML, Blockchain, etc. I have also created five iOS apps from scratch that are currently live in the App Store and are being used by thousands of users worldwide.

The little challenges are significantly harder than I expected them to be, but I also end up getting really close to the solution and find my problems are usually just nuances in syntax. That tells me i'm understanding the larger concepts and just need to practice more. Feels great. For me, this course is the perfect balance of explanation & self discovery. The lessons are dense enough that there's a lot to learn, but they're also paced really well so you get a good sense of momentum. (Only reason I left off half a star is the versions of Swift & Xcode in the tutorial are slightly out of date. I got a little scared by the lack of an AppDelegate, but I figured it all out eventually.)

A great crash course and touches a lot of topics. Stacks, Colors, passing data, reusable views, geometries and animations, and creating targets easily for many ios devices. I am easily able to work with swiftui after having taking this short course. i do appreciate how the author stresses the little things in creating an app, like transitions, box shadows and the like, and how those little things seperate your app from the other losers on the app store. I did have some issues with 2 of the hardcoding solutions that the author made. They later demonstrated how to make different contraints based on the device, however with a relative constraint like an aspect ratio solution, sometimes it automatically takes care of itself.

Nice high level. Learning some interesting tricks. But I had done quite advanced SwiftUI before watching this course. Still, I like it as a refresher.
