These practice tests were an important part of my studying. The information was correct, current, and matched the latest goals for the CLF-C02 exam.

I appreciated that there are several sample tests all available in one place. Some of the test questions had answers that were less-than-ideal for learning conditions, and others were just plain wrong answers. The few questionable ones cast doubt on the rest (which are PROBABLY fine, but I'm no AWS expert, how would I really know?). Example 1: "Which of the following techniques are commonly used to achieve horizontal scalability, also known as elasticity, in cloud computing? (Select two)" -Modifying database instance to higher CPU and RAM: Scaling up a database instance by adding more CPU cores or RAM to accommodate a growing dataset or increasing usage. -Elastic Load Balancing (ELB): A cloud service that distributes incoming traffic across multiple servers, enabling horizontal scalability by adding or removing servers as needed. -Modifying EC2 instance type: Upgrading EC2 instances to a higher tier with more CPU, RAM, or storage to improve performance and handle increased demand. -Read Replicas in Amazon Relational Database Service (Amazon RDS): Copies of the primary database that offload read-only operations, reducing the load on the primary database and allowing for horizontal scalability. -Adding more EC2 instances: Increasing the number of virtual machines (EC2 instances) running an application to handle more traffic or workload. ... The question appears to have three valid answers (#2, #4, and #5). The explanation effectively admits that #5 is horizontal scaling: "while adding instances is part of horizontal scaling..." Once the explanation concedes that point, it's difficult to justify marking it wrong unless the original question contained additional wording that wasn't included. The "correct" answer was #2 & #4. Example 2: Which of the following capabilities is NOT directly offered by Amazon Rekognition? 1) Detect and extract text from an image - Explanation This is incorrect because while Amazon Rekognition can analyze images, text extraction is handled by Amazon Textract. 2) Create thumbnail-sized versions of images - Explanation This is incorrect because Rekognition does not provide image resizing or thumbnail creation features. 3) Recognize and verify individuals in images - Explanation This is correct because Amazon Rekognition supports facial detection, recognition, and comparison to help identify individuals. 4) Label and identify objects within an image - Explanation This is incorrect because although Rekognition can detect objects, this option is not the one asked for in the question. "because although X can Y, this option is not the one asked for in the question." Variations of this nonsensical sentence appears in many answers. It seems to say that although the statement in the answer bullet satisfies the initial condition, it still isn't the correct answer - trust me bro. This answer (#3) is just plain wrong; I suspect someone later added the "NOT" to the question and then didn't update the answers accordingly. Example 3: Which of the following AWS services is categorized as a Software as a Service (SaaS) offering in the Cloud Computing paradigm? 1) AWS Elastic Beanstalk - Explanation This is correct because Elastic Beanstalk is a Platform as a Service (PaaS) offering that abstracts infrastructure management, but in the cloud computing paradigm it is often consumed like SaaS since developers simply deploy applications without managing servers. 2) Amazon Rekognition - Explanation This is incorrect because Rekognition is an AI/ML service (API based SaaS) for image and video analysis, but it is not the primary SaaS example in this context. 3) Elastic Load Balancing (ELB) - Explanation This is incorrect because ELB is an infrastructure service for distributing traffic, not SaaS. 4) Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) - Explanation This is incorrect because EC2 is Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), providing raw compute capacity with full OS control. ... This question asked EXPLICITLY for SaaS and the "correct" answer is "PaaS" rather than the one answer that actually has a SaaS component.

Several questions have wrong answers set, leading to failure in the practice exams. eg Which of the following statements are true about AWS VPC? (Select two) A Security Group can have both allow and deny rules. - Deemed correct in test but is wrong

By Hans Wagner on 9/15/2024

Different questions included all the important topics, making sure I was ready for anything on the exam. The practice tests were difficult but reasonable, and the clear feedback on my answers helped me find and improve my weak spots.

The AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner Exam Practice Tests-CLF-02 course was just what I needed to feel ready for the exam. The practice tests covered everything and looked a lot like the real exam, which really helped me get ready.

By Kevin Orellana on 7/18/2024

Many questions were formatted in a way that makes it hard to understand what the question is asking you. Furthermore, some correct answers are said to be incorrect. For example, in the question "A company is seeking a comprehensive solution to streamline the deployment, configuration, and security of its new workloads in the cloud, ensuring long-term operational readiness. Which of the following AWS services/tools provides the most effective and holistic approach for achieving this objective?", I chose Cloudformation which I believe is the right answer, but it's saying the right answer is Cloud foundations. There were more than two questions which gave the wrong answers.

The practice tests were invaluable in getting me ready for my exam. This test include many important topics for the AWS Cloud Practitioner exam. Some questions seemed the same, but it actually made me learn better. The thorough explanations were a really good extra.
