So far have gone through Dr. Applebaum's qualifications and the requirements to be a personal trainer. I found both to be enlightening. The video needs to be cleaned up, there are skips which detract from the presentation

I enjoyed it. The course was very easy to follow.

Although this was a basic course, I learnt far more than I expected. The explanations were very clear. I liked the recap of the previous lesson at the beginning of every new section, it reinforced things. As someone who has trained in the gym for 10 years, I did not expect to find so much of this information new, engaging and well...informative. I'd recommend this for anyone wanting to expand their own knowledge. Just a note: this course and the one for men are both the same, the only difference in the BYOPT for women are the last two lectures. I like how Mike myth-busts throughout the course and how he relies on science and real evidence to support what he says.

It added a lot of clarity to a confusing field and gives you the tools to focus on the essential things and improve your fitness without getting stuck with the unnecessary details.

A good introduction. I just want to get straight on to how to work out properly. Im not really interested in how PTs get qualified but it's good so far.

I want to be my own trained and feel that If I have to pay someone to help me lose weight so that I can feel good about myself, something is wrong with me. So, I want to to know the ins and outs. So far it’s just what I was thinking

Enjoying the well explained content, making it easy to understand. It's like turning on a light bulb and going "A-ha!"

A really good course on the basics of general fitness. Knowing what to do at the gym can seem overwhelming, but after this course I feel clear on what I need to do and how to progress from there. This course simplifies all the knowledge of fitness into 3 components (aerobic, anaerobic and nutrition) and then gives you clear and simple goals to focus on. I would recommend it!

I recently purchased a gym membership to improve my overall fitness. During my first week after subscribing I was overwhelmed and had a feeling of defeat. I had no CLUE what I was doing. I didn't know where to focus my attention- cardio, machines or free weights, it was all intimidating. I felt pressure to upgrade my membership to include a physical trainer (not because the gym was pushy, but because I wanted to ensure I was getting my monies worth). Well I never did and after this course I'm glad I didn't. I now feel like I have the education and ability to head back into the gym and create my own goal oriented training sessions. This lecture provided excellent information that is practical and scientific. Disclaimer- I am a health care professional so I have had my fair share of biology and A&P courses so everything was very easy for me to understand. It may be somewhat technical for someone not as familiar with the sciences but the instructor does a good job of explaining concepts. My only critique was the instructor mentioned the "3 principles to fitness" very early on in the course but did not actually list the 3 principles until episode 20. I was listening very intently and kept thinking I missed it so that was a little frustrating to rewind looking for information that was not there. I am very pleased with the course and excited to implement what I have learned.
