Course Description

HOW BECOME A PROBABILITY & STATISTICS MASTER IS SET UP TO MAKE COMPLICATED MATH EASY:
This 163-lesson course includes video and text explanations of everything from Probability and Statistics, and it includes 45 quizzes (with solutions!) and an additional 8 workbooks with extra practice problems, to help you test your understanding along the way. Become a Probability & Statistics Master is organized into the following sections:
Visualizing data, including bar graphs, pie charts, Venn diagrams, histograms, and dot plotsAnalyzing data, including mean, median, and mode, plus range and IQR and box-and-whisker plotsData distributions, including mean, variance, and standard deviation, and normal distributions and z-scoresProbability, including union vs. intersection and independent and dependent events and Bayes' theoremDiscrete random variables, including binomial, Bernoulli, Poisson, and geometric random variablesSampling, including types of studies, bias, and sampling distribution of the sample mean or sample proportion, and confidence intervalsHypothesis testing, including inferential statistics, significance levels, type I and II errors, test statistics, and p-valuesRegression, including scatterplots, correlation coefficient, the residual, coefficient of determination, RMSE, and chi-squareAND HERE'S WHAT YOU GET INSIDE OF EVERY SECTION:
Videos: Watch over my shoulder as I solve problems for every single math issue youll encounter in class. We start from the beginning... I explain the problem setup and why I set it up that way, the steps I take and why I take them, how to work through the yucky, fuzzy middle parts, and how to simplify the answer when you get it.
Notes: The notes section of each lesson is where you find the most important things to remember. Its like Cliff Notes for books, but for math. Everything you need to know to pass your class and nothing you dont.
Quizzes: When you think youve got a good grasp on a topic within a course, you can test your knowledge by taking one of the quizzes. If you pass, great! If not, you can review the videos and notes again or ask for help in the Q&A section.
Workbooks: Want even more practice? When you've finished the section, you can review everything you've learned by working through the bonus workbook. The workbooks include tons of extra practice problems, so they're a great way to solidify what you just learned in that section.
HERE'S WHAT SOME STUDENTS OF BECOME A PROBABILITY & STATISTICS MASTERHAVE TOLD ME:
Krista is an experienced teacher who offers Udemystudents complete subject matter coverage and efficient and effective lessons/learning experiences. She not only understands the course material, but also selects/uses excellent application examples for her students and presents them clearly and skillfully using visual teaching aids/tools. -JohnReally good, thorough, well explained lessons. -Scott F.
This is my second course (algebra previously) from Ms. King's offerings. I enjoyed this course and learned alot! Each video explains a concept, followed by the working of several examples. I learned the most by listening to Ms King's teaching of the concept, stopping the video, and then attempting to work the example problems. After working the problems, then watching her complete the examples, I found that I really retained the concepts. A great instructor! -Charles M.

Math class was always so frustrating.
Id go to a class, spend hours on homework, and three days later have an Ah-ha! moment about how the problems worked that could have slashed my homework time in half.
Id think,WHY didnt my teacher justtellme this in the first place?!
So I started tutoring to keep others out of that aggravating, time-sucking cycle. Since then, Ive recorded tons of videos and written out cheat-sheet style notes and formula sheets to help every math studentfrom basic middle school classes to advanced college calculusfigure out whats going on, understand the important concepts, and pass their classes, once and for all.

she took me back 25 years to my primary school. Hey guys, you can easily complete the tutorial in 2 days, its very interesting, now I am comparing my sas and excel outputs and I am able to do calculations behind the scenes. Trainer and the Notes with exercises are amazing.

The course was of very high quality, clearly taught, with numerous quizzes and sample problems to reinforce learning. I learned exactly what I needed to learn.

I love this course! She explains everything in such detail!

By Pradeep Sharma on 11/7/2020

very deeply explained ,cleared my lot of doubts............thank you very much

By Alize Bourgeois on 11/7/2020

Excellent Course covering pretty much everything about statistics and probability. It was a super helpful refresher for me which will greatly help with my data science studies! Thank you!

I am currently pursuing a masters in analytics and statistics is of course a pre-requisite for the program. This was a great class to learn statistics someone new or it was a great class for someone needing to refresh their knowledge and/or fill in the gaps! Krista King's method of explaining complex ideas is amazing.

Very good course thanks Krista. All topics were well explained. It will be great, however, if more advanced stuff in statistics is added to make it a complete course from zero to mastery.

By Juan Carlos Gil Pose on 10/25/2020

Another fantastic course by Krista King! Clear, step-by-step explanations combined with lots of exercises and quizzes make this one another fantastic learning experience! Once again, Krista King knows how to make math accessible and enjoyable! Highly recommended!

There are a lot of stats/probs courses out there that cover a good deal of material but don't explain things very clearly. Krista does a great job of making everything very clear. It's still a difficult topic for me but I'd be struggling a lot more without her help (this course). I also appreciate that the sections and chapters are well laid out and especially labelled so we know what to expect from each one. This let's me use the "course content" as an index so that I can learn what I need. I highly recommend this course to my fellow students who need a stats intro or refresher.

By Alexander Carr on 10/21/2020

I followed this course religiously and I can say that the course is decent enough / pretty damn acceptable / perfectly satisfactory. I had very high hopes, and while I wasn't outright disappointed, I wasn't blown away by it either. The videos take you through the calculations in great detail, to the point where I would speed up parts of the video just because I'd already understood the "method". This is a great thing about the course though; if you get in a muddle, "calculate along" with the video until you get it.
What's lacking is a sense of setting the various statistical methods in a bigger picture such that you gain a strong intuition of where and when to use them, and the types of inferences they can be used to make, alongside examples of the application of those inferences in specific use cases.
Occasionally I found myself knowing how to calculate a thing but not really being able to think about how to apply, at least not until I played around with for a while outside of the course.
The teaching style is very matter of fact and procedural, which will make it very useful for the people who get lost when professor or school teacher rushes through calculations too quickly to internalise. What it does not do is impress upon the wonder of statistics and probability and their potential to make inferences about future outcomes. This makes it ideal as a course to be followed alongside a more philosophical introductory stats and probability course or as remedial learning for students who've fell behind in such course.
Disappointingly, there were also a few mistakes in the material towards the end of the course that will infuriate anyone who is trying to follow the calculation step by step themselves. The materials for the quizzes are all correct, but if you are trying to test yourself and not look at the explanations you could end up following an incorrect method just by watching the videos. The annotation feature in Udemy really should be used to fix these calculation errors.
Overall, a good course with some minor flaws.

The instructor does an excellent job in explaining the various topics. The downloadable resources were a tremendous help as well. Clearly, the instructor put a lot of work into this course. Well done!
