I have been a UK based professional artist for the past 30 years, and since 1999 I have taught watercolor painting to adults, both for my local county adult education service and privately.

During this time I have held up to six classes a week, with many hundreds of students over the years, so I can state with some confidence that most of the problems that people experience when painting have surfaced at some time in class, and have been dealt with by me and the students.

The techniques I use in this course take advantage of this experience and allow me to guide the beginner student in developing their art.

Great exercise to start out with. Getting a feel for the brushes, how much paint to load on the brush, how wet the brush needs to be. Lots to think about, but I ended up with a page of samples that actually do look like trees! I am starting totally from scratch with zero watercolour skills. So this was very satisfying.

Yes, I do wish however, being brand spanking new to this that and the course went into more about how to get set up I have the paper I have the paint I know the brushes do you spray the paper first you just put it on there that type of thing, but otherwise it’s perfect

One always learns something from each instructor. I was expecting PDFs for the pictures painted. This is a beginner watercolour class so feel sketching skills should not be required. Also, found the section on painting the sky confusing as there was no mention that would be required later in the course. A little more clarity would be appreciated. Thank you for your guidance.
