Course Description
Test Driven Development is a key discipline every software developer should practice to ensure the quality of their code. In this course I'll show you how to use this discipline in your everyday coding practices to help ensure the quality of your code base.
In this course we’ll be going over:
What is Unit Testing and Test Driven Development and how does it help you.
What is the Google Test testing library and how is it used for writing unit tests in C++.
How to setup some common C++ development environments to use Google Test.
What are some Best Practices for unit testing and Test Driven Development.
We’ll also walk through some hands on example programming sessions using TDD in C++.

Very good introduction to TDD with GTest. Explains how to set up different IDEs. The Checkout Kata with TDD is explained in depth. The GMock section however feels a bit short and there is no solution for the little coding challenge at the end of this section. Other than that the content is very well presented and one can follow the course very well. Absolutely recommend.

Discounts example goes too far, too fast, and it`s copied code from a paper or another screen, losing time unnecessarly. Also, I encountered some issues when setting up the VisualStudio environment, because the explanations are outdated and incomplete. Also, I don`t like that the Q&A section is not supported anymore by the trainer.

This is a good start for TDD. I found this course just enough informative to start test development. It was not very useful for me to stare on code typing. Also C++11 and above that are widely used allows to write the same with less effort, I think it is now widespread enough to use it. For some reason on my full hd screen the text was blurred a bit. Nevertheless, it was a course that I can recommend to any C++ developer who wants to start writing unit tests.

Practical intro but some content could be richer and slides content is just rushed through at examples, some more words would have been nice , same for the examples. The section on Double tests is very short and even though the example is explaining the idea a better intro on what the plan is could help a lot I had to research aside to follow. Also missing is a multi file example and even though many IDEs are shown no full project is shown. I was hoping to also get a feeling for the scope of TDD as nearly every line of code becomes 10 lines at least that is my impression after this. Any case thanks for the intro to TDD

The course was good, however, the section on test doubles was rather minimalistic, to the point where I feel like I didn't get anything out of it. In the conclusion, it was mentioned that this material would be covered at greater depth in a more advanced course, which would be great - but in this case, since the material isn't really covered here to any kind of useful depth, the section seems superfluous. Might be best to just take it out and leave it for the advanced course, or else expand it a bit and add an assignment.

Overall a great course about Unit Testing/TDD. It explains what is necessary. On a small note, some examples would benefit from small modernizations (e.g. in the mock example, "virtual ~ClassNam(){;}". It would be better to use "virtual ~ClassName = default;". For more Infos, see C++ Coding Guidelines.). However, those things don't impact the learning experience. In summary, I enjoyed the course.

I'm probably too experienced to get as much out of this as I could, performing test driven development on a simple class was clear enough, but then doing it again was kind of painful. Also the questions "Does your IDE support google test framework" and following along with the video don't really help much when I can do it all in my head after the general concept has been explained.

Concise, well-organized course on TDD with C++, gtest and gmock. It is short and to-the-point, giving immediately applicable in real life takeaways. There is still a room for improvements. It coculd have more exercieses, and it could rely less on IDEs too. This course does not target beginners. And I recommend this course to anyone with some background in develping with C++ as a must to take.

The TDD concepts are pretty well explained and illustrated properly on examples / activities proceeding at an adequate space. It's great to be able to install tools like GoogleTests quickly assimilate the basics of that technology within 1 hour. It's great to do things live and integrate the methodology and train of thought. I however think the activities / exercises should be explained better before following the instructor doing it live. Because we haven't really explained what we want to code and the general "design" we have in mind for our objects, it feels like we're adding structures and functions as we go, just to pass tests. Trying to guess the train of thought of the instructor is a complexity we do not need.

I really enjoyed the course, it was informative and showed the basics of test driven development. The two reasons that I have for 4 stars instead of 5 were: 1) It felt like the Test Doubles and Google Mock should have been given equal treatment and been a second part of the course 2) The setup for Visual Studio was incomplete. First, it should have been made clear that Google Mock needed to be compiled the same as we had done for Google Tests and second that instructions should have been given as to how to include this as a template for new developments as taking the 5-10 minutes per project to reconfigure for the test suite will add up, especially for the newer developers taking this course.
