The best entrepreneurship courses on Udemy in 2026: ideas, business plans and freelancing
As featured on Harvard EDU, Stackify and Inc, CourseDuck rates the best courses, tutorials, providers and certifications from student reviews, public mentions, recommendations and polling Stack Overflow members. How we rank

This list is for anyone thinking about working for themselves: someone with an idea but no plan, a founder who needs a business plan for a bank or an investor, or a designer, writer or developer ready to freelance. Our new entrepreneurship category lists 105 courses. These nine are the ones we would pick for each step. They have over 76,000 student reviews between them and are rated 4.4 to 4.7. Seven were updated in 2025 or 2026; the two freelancing classics were last updated in 2019 and 2022, and we say so below.

Every rating, review count, length and last-update date on this page comes from our catalogue and is refreshed with it. The pros and cons are written by CourseDuck’s editors from the course syllabus and a sample of the written student reviews, and checked against both; no course pays to be on this list. Udemy prices move with its sales, so treat the price on each card as the current one, not a fixed one.

How to pick

  • You want to know whether entrepreneurship suits you: Intro to Entrepreneurship.
  • You want one course from idea to registered company: Entrepreneurship: How To Start A Business From An Idea.
  • You do not have an idea yet: How to come up with killer business ideas.
  • You have an idea and want to test it before building: 1 day MVP 2.0.
  • You need a written business plan: The Complete Business Plan Course, or Business Plan And Business Model For A 7-FIGURE Business if you learn best from examples.
  • You are going freelance: Seth Godin’s Freelancer Course for positioning, The Freelance Masterclass if you are a creative, and the Fiverr Masterclass to sell on Fiverr.

Start here: is it for you?

1. Intro to Entrepreneurship: Get started as an Entrepreneur

Evan Kimbrell’s course is the most-reviewed course in our entrepreneurship category: about 26,600 reviews at 4.5 and more than 150,000 students. It is a concept-level tour for people who have never had a lecture on the subject, in about 14.3 hours over 91 lectures with 11 quizzes. The first half covers mindset, career paths, validating an idea and fundraising; the second turns to generating, fitting and testing business ideas. It was updated in December 2025. Reviewers call it clear and well organised. The early sections feel basic to some, and there are no projects, so it stays at the level of concepts.

Pros

  • Reviewers call the teaching clear, simple and easy to follow, even for a young learner
  • Second half gives concrete idea-generation and business model techniques to work through
  • Eleven short quizzes help check understanding as the sections go by
  • Updated December 2025, and about two thirds of ratings are five stars

Cons

  • Early sections feel basic, and one reviewer says they could find the same on Google
  • No projects or hands-on exercises, so it stays at the level of concepts
  • Two Spanish-speaking reviewers wish it had Spanish subtitles or a transcript

2. Entrepreneurship: How To Start A Business From An Idea

Alex Genadinik’s course is the wide, practical survey: testing an idea, writing a business plan, raising money, registering the company and building a website with AI, with a class project to build an online store alongside other students. It runs about 14.4 hours over 182 lectures, was updated in August 2026 and has about 4,800 reviews at 4.5. Reviewers call him kind, funny and easy to follow. A fair amount of the runtime goes to side topics such as habits, Trello and lists of online business ideas; one three-star reviewer still could not see how to actually start, and another found too little substance.

Pros

  • Reviewers describe the teaching as kind, funny and easy to follow
  • Covers idea testing, business plan, fundraising and registration in one place
  • Class project builds an online store alongside other students
  • Updated August 2026, and includes a section on building a website with AI

Cons

  • Two three-star reviewers say it did not show them how to actually start
  • At 14.4 hours, a fair chunk goes to side topics like habits, Trello and idea lists
  • Labeled Intermediate, though it is clearly aimed at first-time entrepreneurs

The guy seems kind and funny which makes it easier to watch. As a young person, some of this information seems way simpler to comprehend.

Finding and testing an idea

3. How to come up with killer business ideas: complete workshop

Evan Kimbrell’s workshop treats ideas as a learnable process: gaps in a value chain, five types of innovation, spotting problems, business models such as SaaS and pay what you want, and a final step for ranking your ideas. It runs about 7.1 hours over 78 lectures with six quizzes, notes for every lecture and worksheets. It was updated in December 2025 and has about 3,300 reviews at 4.6. Reviewers like the real company examples. Evaluating ideas gets about 45 minutes, so it is a method for finding ideas more than testing them, and one reviewer found the jokes grew tedious.

Pros

  • Real company examples make each idea technique easy to follow
  • Evan’s relaxed, funny delivery keeps the lectures moving, reviewers say
  • Notes for every lecture plus worksheets and quizzes to practice with
  • Covers both finding ideas and ranking them, including business models

Cons

  • One reviewer wanted more in-depth coverage of some aspects
  • One reviewer found it overwhelming and a bit disorganised
  • Humour grows tedious for some, and worksheets aren’t offered digitally

Jahongir Burhonov

I really enjoyed the course. Especially Business Models, Strategies and Idea advice sections were very spot on. I started to think about launching a business idea in a different way. For this I thank Evan who was brilliant in delivering his thoughts, explaining concepts and making connections to the real world examples (cases, companies and startups). I wish him best and will surely take his other courses soon.

Bhavender Paul Sharma

Very helpful course and well delivered. Appreciated the examples and the handouts. The course title "killer ideas..." may be a bit overstated but then all one can teach are some tools which this course provides. The end of the course is a bit confusing. After one completes lecture 68, the progress bar continues to show 72 of 74 items complete -- perhaps the ending could be a bit more streamlined....

4. 1 day MVP 2.0 | Go from idea to MVP in just 1 day

Evan Kimbrell’s 1 Day MVP is the Lean Startup method for people who do not code: competitor research, customer development, pitch experiments, landing pages and paid traffic tests, then a long follow-along build of a working minimum viable product. Despite the title it runs about 21.5 hours over 142 lectures with 10 quizzes. It was updated in August 2026 and has about 5,500 reviews at 4.4. Reviewers like the explanations. One reviewer found parts exhaustive and slow, and another felt the casual presenting style was not serious enough.

Pros

  • Walks through landing pages, A/B tests and ad campaigns without any coding
  • Reviewers say the explanations are clear and keep the material fun
  • Covers competitor research and customer development, not just building
  • Refreshed in August 2026, with 5,460 reviews and a 4.4 average behind it

Cons

  • At about 21.5 hours it runs far longer than the one-day title suggests
  • Some reviewers found sections exhaustive and slow for experienced professionals
  • One reviewer felt the casual presenting style was not serious enough

Writing the business plan

5. The Complete Business Plan Course (Includes 50 Templates)

Chris Haroun’s course is the most-reviewed course with business plan in its title in our catalogue: about 24,700 reviews at 4.5 and some 220,000 students. It is a guided, fill-in-the-blanks process in 13 steps from cover page and executive summary to financials, done in a supplied Excel workbook and Word templates, with 50 business plan templates and 25 pitch slide templates. It runs about 8.9 hours over 64 lectures, the financials taking about two, and was updated in May 2025. Reviewers praise the structure. Some find the workbook hard to follow, and it is light on strategy.

Pros

  • Thirteen steps run from cover page to financials, so there is always a clear next task
  • Ships with 50 business plan templates plus 25 pitch slide templates
  • Reviewers find the instructor clear, engaging and passionate about the topic
  • Optional lectures show how to build the Excel workbook from scratch

Cons

  • Leans heavily on one Excel workbook that some reviewers find hard to follow or slow
  • Light on strategy depth, and some reviewers say it plays like a spreadsheet tutorial
  • Needs Excel and Word installed, and one reviewer could not locate the download

6. Business Plan And Business Model For A 7-FIGURE Business

Alex Genadinik builds a plan in stages: a three-sentence plan, then a one-page outline, then the full document with financials, marketing and an investor pitch, with many worked case studies. It runs about 9.2 hours over 122 lectures, was updated in August 2026 and has about 3,000 reviews at 4.7. Reviewers single out the three-sentence method as an easy way to start. There are only two quizzes, a 73-minute section on habits sits outside the plan itself, and the business registration lesson covers the US only.

Pros

  • The three-sentence plan gives a stuck beginner an easy way to start, which reviewers single out
  • Many worked examples and case studies, including a before-and-after plan from a student’s business
  • Templates and a one-page plan outline that reviewers call useful and easy to follow
  • The instructor answers student questions, and a monthly Zoom office hours call is listed

Cons

  • Only two quizzes, so reviewers can’t easily check that the material is sinking in
  • Long for what it covers, per a 2020 review, and 73 minutes of habits content sits outside the plan
  • Registration lessons are US only, and the instructor’s mild accent takes some extra effort for a few

The course was very practical for me. I like the approach of evolving a business plan in stages from a three-sentence overview to a one-page summary to the full plan. I took a lot of notes, downloaded all the resources, and am well on my way to completing my business plan and approaching investors.

Titus Makosha

The experience was beyond expectation and added a completely new dimension of my perspectives of business strategy. The book on productivity is a cherry on top given my passion for "high performance"! Thank you Alex for the great delivery... I left the rating so I could read through the book, but I am yet to complete.

Working for yourself: freelancing

7. Seth Godin’s Freelancer Course

Seth Godin’s course is about mindset and positioning, not software or tactics: choosing clients, storytelling, pricing, reputation and promotion, in 88 short lectures over about 4.8 hours, the last 110 minutes of it a single Q&A. It has about 5,000 reviews at 4.7, and reviewers say the ideas still guide their work years later. It was last updated in April 2019, it asks questions more than it hands out steps, and no quizzes or assignments are listed.

Pros

  • Lectures are short, and reviewers call them clear and to the point
  • Covers choosing clients, pricing, storytelling and reputation in 16 sections
  • Reviewers say the ideas still guide their daily freelance work years later
  • A 110-minute bonus Q&A answers common freelancer worries

Cons

  • Last updated in April 2019, so some examples may feel dated
  • Big ideas, not step-by-step tactics, which some will find too loose
  • No quizzes or assignments are listed, so the exercises are up to the student

It's no secret that I have been a Seth Godin "fan" for many years. As I near what would normally be the end of a career (I'm 63+) I am looking for inspiration to start something new, something fresh (for me, at least). Most of my working life I've endeavored to make a ruckus in the several different industries that I have participated in. Taking this course comes at the perfect time to step up...

Lydia De Boer

Seth is a true artist! He know how to ask right questions and raise the must needed subjects. He has a way of bringing inspiration, motivation and action like I’ve never see anyone do before. I’ve read a lot of his books and regularly go back to them. Engaging with his work makes me a better freelancer and a more interesting person. Thank you for all the wisdom and for telling the stories we need...

8. The Freelance Masterclass: For Creatives

Lindsay Marsh, a working freelance graphic designer, writes for designers, illustrators, photographers and web designers: goals, personal branding, portfolios, finding clients, pricing, contracts and cash flow, in about six hours over 51 lectures. It has about 2,000 reviews at 4.6, and reviewers single out the pricing section. It was last updated in February 2022, there is no project to practise on, and one reviewer says the sample contract has legal problems, so have any contract reviewed before you use it.

Pros

  • Pricing section is singled out, with hourly versus fixed rates and practice quotes
  • Covers branding, portfolios, client hunting and contracts in six hours, no software needed
  • Downloadable extras, including PDF guides on pricing and finding clients
  • Principles carry across creative fields instead of tying you to one tool

Cons

  • Last updated February 2022, and one reviewer calls the material old
  • No quizzes or projects, and a reviewer wanted practical work to go with it
  • Branding and portfolio take much of the runtime, and freelance writing gets little

Pritam Pal

This is one of the best course on how to start as a freelancer. The instructor speaks slowly and teaches every little part in details. Not only she teaches about freelancing but she also helps you learn how to build up your brand up from level zero. I loved the course very much. I would like everyone to take up this course and start learning. Love and Regards Pritam Pal

Sidney Johnson

This course was a benefit to learning a new skill. I really enjoyed the course and the perspective given. I purchased this course along with several others, base upon a previous course that the instructor has. Her experience tells a story as a guide, while her style is down-to-earth and easy to follow. It is important to understand your style of learning and the type of instructors you gravitate...

9. Become a Top-1% Fiverr Seller - 2026 Freelancing Masterclass

Alex Genadinik’s Fiverr course assumes you already have a skill to sell and shows how to sell it there: profile setup, gig SEO and design, a day-one to-do list and Fiverr ads, then upsells, repeat buyers, seller levels and turning a gig into an agency. It runs about 5.6 hours over 77 lectures, was updated in August 2026 and has about 1,800 reviews at 4.5. Reviewers call it clear, and one newcomer said it never felt overwhelming. Experienced sellers say it is basic, and some reviewers felt he pushes his other courses.

Pros

  • Newcomers say the lectures are clear and never overwhelming
  • Dedicated sections on gig SEO, thumbnails and a day-one to-do list
  • Goes past the first sale: upsells, repeat buyers and building an agency
  • Updated in August 2026, and short lectures make it quick to get through

Cons

  • Experienced sellers and marketers say it is basic and taught them little
  • Some reviewers feel the instructor promotes himself and pushes other courses
  • Pace can feel fast, and one reviewer says segments cut off mid sentence

Great course but I got a little confused with the connection message template and welcome message template. The More Compelling template example (Lecture 59) should be fully completed before moving on to the next welcome message template (Lecture 60).
