Chris Haroun's course is a guided fill-in-the-blanks process for writing a business plan. It runs 13 steps, from cover page and executive summary to financials and appendix, and much of the work happens in a supplied Excel workbook and Word templates. About 220,000 students have enrolled in 8.9 hours of video across 64 lectures. It suits first-time founders and small business owners who want a finished document, not a lecture on strategy.

Reviewers praise the structure and the teaching. Several call the instructor clear, engaging and passionate, and one says no teacher has put this much effort into course materials. The complaints are consistent too. Some find the Excel workbook hard to follow on screen, one says it keeps freezing, and another could not find the file to download. Two low reviews say it is really an Excel walkthrough, and one wanted more advanced vocabulary for a big-company career.

Value looks solid for a first plan. Fewer than 3 percent of the 24,681 ratings are one or two stars, and the average is 4.5. I was hoping to learn a bit more advanced techniques and vocabulary, as well as something that would be more useful to a career in a big company. This course is very good for self-employed and small companies, but it was not a match for me.

I took this course to build a complete business plan in a structured, step-by-step way, and it does exactly that. The 13-step framework, the large set of templates, and the accompanying Excel tool make the process very systematic and practical, from the executive summary and market analysis all the way to financials and milestones. It feels less like a theoretical course and more like a guided implementation where you gradually assemble a real, usable business plan. The course is quite detailed and process-oriented, and a lot of the work happens inside the provided templates and spreadsheets, so it’s especially well suited if you like structured, hands-on guidance. Some parts (especially the financials) require patience and careful following of the steps, but overall this is an excellent course for founders, entrepreneurs, or anyone who needs a concrete, end-to-end blueprint for creating a serious business plan rather than just learning the theory.

The topic of this training should be Excel and Ms Word Training, using business plan development as a practical model, OR Business Plan automation with excel and it should be recommended only for those that already have a working knowledge of business plan development but just need to be able to automate it using excel. It's not really for people who are new into business plan writing. It can be made better by creating separate modules that focus on core business plan writing, while the excel component can then come later as a way of bringing the pieces together using the automation features features in excel

I like the Excel sheet and the step-by-step approach to building the business plan for my business. However, when it comes to Financials and the outputs at the end of the course, I was expecting much better, clearer, and easier steps.
