Our take
Based on the ratings of 222 students, a sample of their written reviews and the syllabus, as the course stood in January 2026. No course pays to be reviewed.
This is a 36-hour build of a multivendor e-commerce platform, Django REST Framework on the backend and React on the front end, with JWT authentication, Stripe and PayPal checkout, coupons, a customer dashboard and a full vendor dashboard for managing products and orders. Instructor Destiny Franks walks through 138 lectures across 34 sections. The audience list mentions beginners, but the reviews make clear it works best for people who already have some Django and React under their belt and are ready to build something real.
Reviewers who stuck with it praise the scope: JWT auth, Stripe and PayPal integration, a working vendor dashboard, and real e-commerce patterns they had not seen laid out this clearly elsewhere. Several call Destiny's teaching excellent and say the community support helped them push through. The complaints are consistent too: code sometimes appears on screen before it is explained, a few functions get used before they are created, and some lessons have bugs that were never fixed in the video. One reviewer needed three days to catch a missing urls.py entry the instructor skipped.
At 36 hours for one project, this is a marathon, not a quick win, and it sits closer to an intermediate build-along than a true beginner course despite the All Levels label. If you already know the basics and want a real multivendor project to point to, it delivers. If you need every line explained before it appears, expect some frustration along the way.
Pros
- Full JWT auth, Stripe and PayPal checkout, plus a working vendor dashboard
- 138 lectures cover real e-commerce patterns, not toy examples
- Reviewers say Destiny Franks explains concepts clearly and helps in the community
- Covers coupons, order management, reviews, search and deployment in one build
Cons
- Some code appears on screen before it's explained in earlier lectures
- A few bugs and gaps, like an unwired urls.py entry, go unfixed in the videos
- At 36 hours for a single project, it's a long haul, not a quick beginner course
A good course. Good content with practices and standards used in the professional market.
Listed as All Levels, but reviews say it suits developers who already know Django and React basics.

This course is outstanding. I come from a Next.js background, and learning the full e-commerce stack here with Django + React is pushing me in all the right ways. Working in React forces you to understand the fundamentals instead of relying on Next.js abstractions, and that alone makes this course worth it. Even though I haven’t completed the full content yet, the structure, clarity, and real-world e-commerce patterns are already the best I’ve seen. Highly recommended for anyone serious about mastering a full-stack e-commerce workflow.

One strong suggestion for improvement. DON'T use a function name without creating it. When you are using staircase, suddenly, don't think of jumping to the lift as you will miss the point "Step by Step". Update Section: 8, Chapter 245:28 function “setAuthUser” is not created yet, but used it in login function. For beginners, it will be confusing. VS Code doesn’t show error but PyCharm is throwing error. Step by Step – For example, instead of creating all functions register, login, logout, setuser…etc. Step-1 – Connect React and Django with a “hello ” demo. Pass the name from frontend and receive it in server. Send a response from server and receives it in frontend Step-2 – Register User • Complete Register, from front-end to backend, styling is not required but we can submit data from front-end and receive it in backend. • Create model just for register user in backend and save the received data. Other fields can be added later as the course is progressed. Step-3 – Login User So on…. Auth chapters like Forgot password, Change password, Tokens…etc can be moved to later stages. And also, when discussing theory, please explain with some diagrams or presentation. DRF basics can be covered before starting the project, may be a separate video needed to understand the type of serializers and views.

This is amazing course I found for the topic. I have learned a lot from the course. There are some errors in the course that need to be corrected. But as a develop we need to debug any way. Thank you Destini for your hard work to create this amazing course. Love it.

A good course. Good content with practices and standards used in the professional market. My criticism is more about the design of the system as a whole, especially the database, which contains a lot of repeated data and causes the storage cost to increase significantly in a short period of time. Some errors are also not well handled in the backend (there are many use cases with Entity.objects.get), which throws an exception when it is not found. The course was not focused on working on this, so if you are going to use the code in real life, make sure to take this into account. But thank you, overall it met my expectations and made me really learn more about both the frontend and the backend.

I purchased this course already knowing the basics of Django while having no idea what React is, so I would consider myself a beginner entering the course. I think the strong points of this course is that it introduces us to a lot of new and useful knowledge regarding a wide range of topics with modern techniques. Despite that, not everything is explained thoroughly for you so you do have to do a lot of side study and research. I especially struggled in the React hooks and have to watch a few Youtube videos to understand it. Also, if you decided to code along with the instructor, there will be a lot of bugs, and he doesn't always catch them instantly though he has good debugging skills. Overall, I think this course is suitable for anyone wanting to grasp a wide understanding of web development and API design quickly, though some side studying is needed if you're a beginner like me.

so far so good! though it's not a teach all course but it is enough as a start. I am at 35% when I made this review and I can tell I have learned so much. Kudos Destiny.

This is a very comprehensive tutorial on integrating Django and React, incorporating Simple JWT, Django REST Framework, and more. It teaches us the intermediate to advanced Django's knowledge and equip some with good understanding about it. It can be further improved for smoother flows by creating backend logic and visualizing the frontend simultaneously for better understanding, minimizing bugs existing in some of the videos, and adding annotations in certain videos where missing parts occur.

The instructor's approach in combining Django and React was exemplary. While the course description mentions no top-level programming experience necessary, a basic understanding of Python, Js and Django, React proved advantageous. However, a great one.
