Building REST APIs with Flask and Python in 2026 (Udemy.com)

Hi Pratar, I really like your explaination much more than the original course creator, Jose Salvatierre. I bought your course expecting to see your approach to this shop/product API to compare with Jose's, not a complete identical solution... I saw your reply to a similar review. Eventhough we all learn by emulating, teaching material should be original creation, which especially it's important when you are making an earning from those videos and Jose didn't publish his content for free neither... I will definitively purchase your future courses, because you are a very effective teacher.

I am very happy with this course! You will need some background knowledge in programming to grasp concepts (I learned back-end using C# and am relatively new to Python) but Pratap does a great job detailing step-by-step how to create a back-end, web API with Python from scratch which is what I needed. Very grateful for this course! Only thing that would have been nice is a way to learn how to do pagination in API form and how to use query parameters but otherwise I was able to make a fully functioning back-end template for my project following this course.

where is all of the source code. i assume i have done something wrong because the swagger-ui will not display my endpoints or the schemas. too many times, he says, "lets make it easy i'll just paste the code". content was informative. it would be nice to understand why use flask_smorest vs other options

Course is good if you are familiar with these topics or you have seen such thing earlier. But if you are completely beginner to REST API world then you may find it difficult to cope with it. As I believe before we directly jump to the library and start writing the code we should first tell the problem and then tell the other way to solve that problem and then at the end we should come up with the library or framework that we are going to use stating that how this will solve our problem. Thats what I believe is the appropriate way of teaching. I am not saying this course is not good. OfCourse Pratap has put his efforts and made this course affordable. and even I got my questions answered on time. But if you are someone who are okay to get something from video and then go to internet and do your own research as well then you can take this course. As you may find some of the libraries are old and you may not find the exact code that he is showing in the video. Hope this helps. But no doubt it's a good started course. I am comfortable that I can start and make API. and oncourse there is lots of lots to learn. And on top of that instructor's availability to answer your queries would never be a problem.(atleast in my case it wasn't :) ) Note: I am specifically talking about section starting from sec-3 till sec-8.
