Course Description

Welcome to the "Advanced C Programming Masterclass: Pointers & Memory in C"! This best-seller course is designed to elevate your C programming skills, with a particular focus on the C language, topics related to embedded C, and advanced C.

Introduction

C programming language still remains one of the most popular and used languages in 2025 and has great career options in different industries, such as:

- Cyber Security.

- Smart Homes & Smart Cities.

- Drones.

- And especially in Embedded Systems.

What will you learn in this course?

There is an 'ancient' phrase saying "to become an expert in C - you need to master pointers".

One of the main objectives of this course is designed to take your basic knowledge of pointers (one of the most significant topics) to the next level. The goal is to take the basic skills you've gained so far in C programming and take this knowledge to a whole new level.

We will cover pointers, memory addressing, pointers to functions, advanced concepts of structs and dynamic memory allocation, and so much more.

The beauty of this course is that it regularly gets updated with new material. And the material being added to the course these days includes lots of information in the low-level programming (the bits and bytes), preparation for usage of Embedded C in Embedded Systems, and other very important topics for the next generation of engineers.

This course covers the topics in-depth, from different angles, and with various visualizations and illustrations - that should make the learning process of pointers and low-level programming much easier and fun for you.

Also, you will get a whole dedicated section on how to use a debugger and what is the debugging process that may help you so much in developing your future applications.

After completing this course you will gain plenty of new skills and knowledge that may improve your chances of getting a job position as a C Developer as well as increasing your chances to pass the exam (if you're still a student).

What's different about this course?

Vlad Budnitski will be your instructor for this course.

He has years of experience working as a Software Developer (also working with complex systems developed in C language). As well as 4 years of experience teaching C Programming for Beginners and Advanced C Programming in College.

So you got lucky on this one because you will get knowledge from a practical software developer and experienced instructor.

You will get a handpicked, concise, and straight to the point material that you will be amazed by the way these complicated pointers can be taught.

This course is also guided with concrete exercises, challenges, and full solution videos - that will help you to practice the materials.

Who's this course for?

First of all, this course is not for "absolute beginners" and it requires you to have at least the basic knowledge of programming. It's assumed you have some knowledge of the basics in C - preferably having completed our "C Programming for Beginners" course (here on Udemy).

This course is great both for students in college as well as graduates who need to learn and understand pointers in depth.

In addition, if you're planning to explore and master the Embedded Systems domain using Embedded C - then this course is a great preparation of various topics for the Embedded Domain. Once you master all the concepts of this course you'll be a few steps closer to proceeding and mastering Embedded Systems, programming Micro Controllers, etc.

So, once again, why this course?

  1. Investment of Time: We've spent hundreds of hours perfecting this course to make your C language learning experience engaging and fun.

  2. Best-Seller Status: Our course stands out among others. It's a top choice for learners due to its in-depth, easy-to-understand approach to complex C programming topics.

  3. Ease of Learning: Don't worry about getting confused or lost. We're experts at breaking down difficult concepts into easily digestible content.

  4. Staying Current: We keep our content fresh and relevant with constant updates and improvements. Currently, we offer over 40 hours of practical C programming content.

  5. Hands-On Training: Theory is good, but practice is better. We provide lots of exercises, complete with video solutions to help cement your knowledge.

  6. Community Support: Got questions or doubts? Our active Q&A community is here to provide answers and support your learning journey.

It's an amazing course. Vlad is always more than clear, sometimes a little repetitive but it's the best way to get an hard topic. I started to study C a few months ago. I had both of his courses and I learned a lot. Sometimes I had problems to understand the real goal of some exercise, but I think is due to the english language, as I'm not a native speaker. Well done!

It is an advanced course of C programming. The speaker wastes time in explaining very basic things already learnt in the beginner's course, though his intention may be good. In my honest opinion, the speaker wastes almost 30% of the time in general topic, some times irrelevant, in almost all sections and it highly distracts and reduces the tempo of the course. I had to fast forward every now and then. I had a great expectations but slightly disappointed. However, thanks for your time and I did learn something. All the best.

very good course, great exposition, intresting exercises what open mind for the logic. highly recommended. only thing for vlad , you say always "fell free to ask", i have done only one question, you never answer me...that said you are very nice i very hope on new advanced course on windows process how to create to handle primitive function , PEB structure e so on. thank you at the next cource

This course offers an overview on how c pointers work & are used. You also get introduced to some language advanced techniques, such as pointers to functions. The teacher is eager to explain & very stimulating. The course is centered upon the practical aspect with lots of exercises. You get inspired to explore details & play w/ the language. I think these knowledges have a transversal value & make you reflect and innerly understand the functionment & the implementative choices of other programming languages.

I'm coming straight off from Vlad Budnitski's "C Programming Bootcamp - The Complete C Language Course", which is a precursor to this one. The previous course was very well-organized, and really thorough. This one is a little bit weaker. The flow does not seem as coherent or planned out. In the most important section about arrays and pointers and dynamic memory allocations, exercises are often NOT tested i.e. the programs are written, but not run on screen. When you do copy them to your IDE, they don't always run as they should or only partially work, or they miss out some edge cases, etc. This issues would've become evident if the programs were run, I believe. This may not be a big issue for a master-coder, but it can seriously slow *our* (learner-coder) progress down if you don't have anyone to ask for advice. That said, the exercises are really plentiful, but they can get repetitive and sometime convoluted. I believe the course would benefit more for fewer but broader exercises, that would be explained thoroughly (including running the programs). Also, it would be beneficial to offer source codes. Students sometimes help with this, as they post their solutions in the Q&A sections, but these are mostly without any explanation at all - so their usefulness is limited to the beginner-programmer. This course's greatest value lies in the broad area of subjects it covers. It will expose you to CONCEPTS, and it will EXPLAIN them. They will stick with you, and then you can perfect them in your (hopefully) fruitful career as a developer. Vlad is excellent in explaining theoretical topics, and is also a really enthusiastic and pleasant speaker which helps immensely with the presentation. Overall, I would recommend this course, even though there are some areas to be improved. It's a very good companion to the beginner's C course by Vlad, and is also terrific at introducing you to programming concepts.

Maybe some lessons could be shorter, but it is not a big problem. The teacher has been added more sections and it's something that must be appreciated. I feel myself more confident about the use of arrays and pointers thanks to this course. Aunque algunas lecciones se desarrollan de forma un poco lenta, el curso permite coger confianza en el uso de arrays y punteros.

The course is full of exercises and that's great since I also believe that we really learn as we practice on our own a lot. "Practice means Progress" according to the teacher, and I go along with it. The course is well structured and the teacher offers detailed explations over the subjects. He really knows the "catches" that might make us give up, and in order to overcome he presents clear reasonings and explanations that make us move on.

Having this opportunity to review C and Pointers is pretty awesome. I have learnt a lot from Vlad about C which could be regarded as the fundamental of almost every programming language. I have taken Vlad's course from C Bootcamp to this advanced pointer course, and now I am confident to say that I know about C because I understand pointers now!! Hoping there would be more algorithm contents in the future, thanks Vlad!

By Deepak Varma on 6/9/2022

I liked the exercises and the way Vlad explained the solutions. I was able to understand, follow and resolve the exercises on my own. However, I would have enjoyed more variety of exercises. I also truly missed Data structures not being part of this video. Would highly encourage Vlad to either those topics or create a new course to cover data structures. Thank you!
