Course Description

There are secrets to mastering your bodyweight. Usually only passed on to professional athletes training for things like gymnastics, this knowledge is imperative to gain control in all forms of movement.

Arrow-like handstands frozen in time, strict muscle-ups with no kip or momentum, and levitating into levers are no longer myths but achievable goals for anyone with the correct information and training paths.

Calisthenics is a form of strength and power training utilising only compound bodyweight exercises. Using isolation exercises doesn't teach the body how to coordinate its strength and balance through the core and into the limbs – Calisthenics helps you to develop that through the pursuit of clean and 'Strict Form'. The techniques learnt can then be mixed with each other into routines (Freestyle Calisthenics/Street Workout), or weight can be added to the movement once strict form has been achieved to keep overloading the body.

Calisthenics strengthens the body holistically as a unit – it is incredibly useful for those who use their bodies for performance, for example in sports, martial arts, dance and yoga. Whether aiming to improve your ability to keep possession of a ball, developing your punching/kicking power, perfecting your balance or simply just to get stronger, it is an age old training system which will benefit you hugely.

I learned a lot in this course with technique on how to build up my strength. I can do modification until I can fully perform that particular exercise.

decent overview of many exercises that help strengthen various parts of your body. but it is quite hard to follow. The very loud music at the beginning of each video and quiet explanation, later on, makes you keep adjusting the volume. also sometimes the text part disappears too quickly (or stays for too long)

By Dylan Stevens on 7/12/2020

Not a bad course. The main issue I have is that the volume when he talks is so low, but the music volume is so high. Not a big fan of the music either, but it's a pretty informative course, nonetheless.

By Nathaniel Perry on 5/1/2020

It was only 101 1 minute videos about different types of body weight exercises that people can find on YouTube or any workout apps that's are specifically for body weight training.

By William Burgess on 2/26/2020

I left the high rating because it’s very informative and also very instructional. Helped a lot with different levels.

O instrutor repassa de maneiras simples todas as informações adorei. O curso cumpriu o seu papel realmente ele apresentou a maneira correta de executar todos os movimentos. Agora é colocar em prática rever as aulas, Ou seja treinar e treinar . Recomendo!!

Ricky does a great job explaining many progressions. If you are unable to do a movement, you simply go back to the previous one and master it. I use this course to get inspiration while trying out different workouts.

By Dominic Alan Lewarne on 12/12/2017

Hi was not a bad course. I would change the music or mix it up. The sound levels between the talking and music is not great either. Music is loud and talking is soft. I would of rather put together tutorials on the difficult exercises using the easier ones to show progressions. More interaction between instructor and learner would be better rather than him talking in the background. He should talk to his audience. Would be nice to see good and bad techniques rather than just a brief short video of the each exercise. This basically was just a list of exercises for calisthenics rather than a course of how to do calisthenics.

By Brian Doyle on 2/21/2016

I am very impressed with this course. It is much more then I expected. The exercises are very good as are the instructions on how to do them. Some of the exercises are more intense then I am interested in trying but it is good to see how they are done.

From the offset of starting this course I found it to be be interesting & clear with a great use of visual images. VR warren describes the explanations in a detailed & concise manner meaning any range of abilities can benefit from doing this course. I would highly recommend It. ~ it is definitely an investment. I am already benefitting in my training from the extensive knowledge & experience he has on calisthenics .
