The skills I've learned through podcasting, blogging, creating videos, and marketing is something I will carry the rest of my life into many other endeavors.

Art and Design

I have an extensive background in different forms of art and design. I have an Associate's Degree in Computer Animation and I've worked with various production houses to create awesome content. Adobe Photoshop has been a staple of my arsenal since I was 16 and I still use it faithfully to this day.

I also have a history in live visual arts, specifically lighting design for music events, festivals, theaters, and corporate gigs. My passion for the visual arts has helped me become a master in understanding lighting, color theory, and composition.

Awesome course on cover design. I strongly recommend this course to anyone who is writing a book and is stuck in how to choose the best cover design sample created by a designer. Or who is willing to create their book cover design by themself using Canva.

the course is shallow, not much on actual design and constant reference to another course, it looks like this course is just an advert for another better course, I wonder why i bought it instead the one being referred to all through the course. hanks anyway.

The Presenter is very easy to understand. Clear and precise speech. What I like also is he is even in his speaking. No stuttering, or stagnation but smooth and completer. Easy to follow and thorough.

LOVE the course and content. Very clear instruction. The instructor refers to design principles in other courses. But there are probably half a dozen principles specific to cover design and that's what I'd like to know I'd like to know just enough to make a book cover. I do plan to take the author's other courses but right now Book cover design isn't the same as poster design and that's my real question. For instance, book cover designs tend to be centered and symmetrical but posters aren't...at least that's what I'd think. Maybe later in the course things will get clearer.

Great course! The perfect way to get you started to making your first book-cover! I think it might be useful to also complete the "Graphic Design Theory" courses as well by the same author. That is what I plan to do next!

As I'm a novice, I feel that the instructor is pitching this at just the right level and I feel confident that with his guidance I can follow the training and create my own covers. Nice course

Looks great, love the section on using Canva. I really like the the fact that you can see the tutor face to face it's not just a bunch of slides, so it feels more engaging. Tutor has a good strong voice and speaks clearly, he does not rush you. There are plenty of examples of book covers to illustrate the points he makes. Nice course, thanks .

Hi Jeremy. This course was fantastic. I was facing a design project and had no idea where to start. I want to get in and mess with Canva and then really work through the design project, given your suggestions and guidance. It will likely be some time before I can have something to upload. But you are a lifesaver! I took the time to go back to your intro GD course and it gave me an overview of what you were doing as you then went over the samples in Canva. I also took some time to do some initial searching for samples on the sites you suggested for ideas...never thought of that...looooots of ideas! I appreciated the explanation of copyright, and free site use for images was very helpful as well. Anyway, thanks for this and Cheers for now. Stu Harvey

There's great information here about the basics of how to design a book cover. The brief overview of the basics of graphics design theory and then seeing them applied to book covers specifically is informative. Also, looking at book covers with an eye to see how graphic design principles are applied is extremely useful.

You know how sometimes you like one book cover much more than another but you cant quite put a finger on why? Usually it is because the one you like best has adhered to the basic principals of design. Jeremy explains the elements of design like color, shape, texture, space, contrast and proportion in such a way that you will be able to apply them to your own designs. Then he shows you step by step how to use Canva to design your eBook cover and how to resize it for each of the different platforms you might like to publish to. This is an excellent course and well worth watching.
