Jeremy Deighan

My name is Jeremy Deighan and I am thrilled to be a part of the Udemy team of instructors, helping others achieve their own personal goals. I have had quite a range of skills and hobbies throughout my lifetime. I really enjoy teaching and hope to provide information to others on anything and everything I know how to do. Please take a moment to check out my courses, and if you take any please leave a review and any feedback you have.

Business

Starting my own business in 2015 has led me down some interesting and wonderful paths in my lifetime. I've learned the ins and outs of management, marketing, accounting, sales, and other aspects of a business environment. The skills I've learned through podcasting, blogging, creating videos, and marketing is something I will carry the rest of my life into many other endeavors.

Art and Design

I have an extensive background in different forms of art and design. I have an Associate's Degree in Computer Animation and I've worked with various production houses to create awesome content. Adobe Photoshop has been a staple of my arsenal since I was 16 and I still use it faithfully to this day.

I also have a history in live visual arts, specifically lighting design for music events, festivals, theaters, and corporate gigs. My passion for the visual arts has helped me become a master in understanding lighting, color theory, and composition.

Some good information and examples, but a lot of repetitiveness in the messages at the start and end of each section... including how to download. This is good where someone watches only specific sections, but got a little tedious for me personally as I went through the full course. Little "tips", "tricks" or advice specific to that specific type of graphic creation... or Canva in general might have been a very nice change a long with the invite to upload and share, without a long dialog about it each time. (An explanation at the start for why you want the viewer/student to share their creations at the start of the program I think would be sufficient). And the additional time saved, again would have been better spent in my opinion on giving a bonus tip, trick, shortcut (keyboard shortcuts?), personal experience using Canva, or other forms of advice - even specifics for better results, per platform, one is creating graphics for.

This course was alright. I've taken some courses with Phil before and he was great, but he isn't in this course much. There is 11 sections in the course, which is very similar work in each one, but with different shaped graphics, so once you watch one, you kind of get the point of all of them, so a lot of repeating. Plus the ended of each course is just the same 2 minute video over and over again - playing it once would have been enough.

The version being taught was a slightly outdated version of Canva.

Ah actually I know the some of the basic stuff already. But yeah it's helpful. Maybe going ahead some of the things might amaze me. Thanks

By Ramakanta Mishra on 7/7/2020

Surprisingly very basic stuff. This course didn't teach anything advanced. All the stuff are literally, and, figuratively extremely basic.

By Meghana Sharan on 6/25/2020

Its been a really good experience learning and doing the canvas assignments along with the lecturer.
