Course Description
You've found the most advanced, most complete, and most intensive masterclass online for learning how to integrate LangChain and ChatGPT into production-ready applications!
Thousands of engineers have learned how to build amazing applications using ChatGPT, and you can too. This course uses a time-tested, battle-proven method to make sure you understand exactly how ChatGPT works, and is the perfect pathway to help you get a new job as a software engineer working on AI-enabled apps.
The difference between this course and all the others: you will go far beyond the basics of simple ChatGPT prompts, and understand how companies are integrating text generation into their apps today.
___________
ChatGPT is being used across industries to enhance applications with text generation. But with this new feature comes many challenges:
Building complex text generation pipelines that incorporate outside information
Creating reusable configuration components that can be reassembled in different ways
Applying user feedback (like upvotes/downvotes) to enhance ChatGPT's output
Wiring in observability and tracing to see how users are interacting with your AI
Generate text performantly using distributed processing
This course will walk you through production-ready, repeatable techniques for addressing each of these challenges and many more.
What will you build?
This course focuses on creating a series of different projects of increasing complexity. You'll start from the very basics, understanding how to access ChatGPT 4 programatically. From there, we will quickly increase in complexity, building more complex projects with many more features. By the end, you will make a fully-featured web app that implements a "Chat-with-a-PDF" feature. Note: no previous web development experience is required.
Here's a partial list of some of the topics you'll cover:
Understand how complex text-generation pipelines work
Write reusable code using chains provided by LangChain
Connect chains together in different ways to dramatically change your apps behavior with ease
Store, retrieve, and summarize chat messages using conversational memory
Implement semantic search for Retrieval-Augmented Generation using embeddings
Generate and store embeddings in vector databases like ChromaDB and Pinecone
Use retrievers to refine, reduce, and rank context documents, teaching ChatGPT new information
Create agents to automatically accomplish tasks for you using goals you define
Write tools and plugins to allow ChatGPT to access the outside world
Maintain a consistent focus on performance through distributed processing using Celery and Redis
Extend LangChain to implement server-to-browser text streaming
Improve ChatGPT's output quality through user-generated feedback mechanisms
Get visibility into how users interact with your text generation features by using tracing
There are a ton of courses that show how to use ChatGPT at a very basic level. This is one of the very few courses online that goes far beyond the basics to teach you advanced techniques that top companies are using today. I have a passion for teaching topics the right way - the way that you'll actually use technology in the real world. Sign up today and join me!

Learned a lot, but not quite a skillset that is used in the world of LLMs, there is a lot more to it than just working with LangChain and Flask, could have been more valuable had we also learned how to put together the Svelte app, but it seems that LangChain library is ever changing so another reason I gave the stars I did as this course will be outdated in a year or so.

The course provides an excellent foundational understanding of LangChain, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to get started. However, I encountered some challenges as I used LangChain 0.2 instead of 0.1. This proved to be a significant difference, as the newer version deprecated the LLMChain function, which is covered extensively in the course. LangChain is evolving rapidly, and navigating the documentation can be quite challenging, with some functions only applicable to certain versions. This made applying the base knowledge a bit frustrating for me, especially when implementing Pinecone. Integrating Pinecone with LangChain required careful consideration of the right combinations of libraries and versions. The combination of these factors and the documentation’s complexity made the learning curve steeper than expected, but with persistence, it’s possible to master.

The lectures and explanations are second to none. The only reason why I didn't give a full 5* is because the course material is outdated. You can still apply a lot of the lessons using current releases that being said, and these tools update so quickly that it would be near impossible to keep up without redoing the whole course every month. Perhaps an additional section showing updated ways of doing things would be beneficial so we can see syntax updates without requiring a complete overhaul of the course material

Great course! Really clear and helpful. It goes through all the topics I had expected to with both really useful schema and theory explanation and with code as well (written step by step). I had already experience with text generation app (with OpenAI directly) and I have to say that this course give me a lot of new information. In the chapter 12 there is also the most important reason (for me at least) to use LangChain: the capability to change the components (such as LLM) in a super easy way. Unique negative aspect is that all the course use as LLM only OpenAI LLMs (no Anthropic, Google or others)... it uses gpt3.5 and gpt4. But it worth in any case 5 stars (hope in future this course could be maybe extended with maybe an additional chapter related to LLMs provided by other companies). Super suggested!

The first part of the course is great, 5 stars. The second part, where he builds an app, becomes too complex too quickly. You can easily lose track of what he is doing, and the focus shifts from understanding the building blocks of langchain to integrating everything in this structure of the app. Also, there are a lot of problems when integrating to the various tools he uses in the second part, together with the deprecated modules from langchain. Not a good experience in this second part, so I rated 3 stars.

Content is very well explained. Good for anyone trying to understand how langchain works and build Gen AI apps. The langchain library has been updated since the content was recorded, but all the concepts taught are still valid. OpenAI APIs are used in the course. If you use the free tier, there's a rate limit of 3 requests per min which may cause errors when running chains which exceed this limit e.g. when using agents. Free tier also doesn't have access to GPT-4.

I am thoroughly impressed with the course taught by Stephen. Their use of dynamic code, real-world examples, and clear explanations has made complex concepts easy to understand. The instructor's teaching style is engaging and effective, making the learning experience enjoyable and rewarding. I highly recommend this course to anyone looking to enhance their skills. Thank you for providing such valuable content!

This course covers how to use Python and LangChain and vector databases to create AI applications which use LLMs or ChatGPT. The final application created in the course is an LLM assistant web app which can answer questions about the content of PDFs uploaded by the user I highly recommend Grider's courses for any topic he covers. He is one of the best teachers of computer science topics on Udemy. He breaks things down into small steps and does not assume the student has a lot of background knowledge, which is very helpful when approaching relatively novel topics like LangChain, LLMs, and artificial intelligence

This course is excellent. It is well organized and provides solutions to production level challenges. Not only did I learn a lot about LangChain, I picked up some more advanced knowledge on Python in general. I like how the instructor also focuses on the user experience in addition to the backend. So, you are not just learning about LangChain. You are learning about how to use LangChain in a real-world app providing a good user experience.

I learned a lot about programmatically interacting with ChatGPT using LangChain. I did not have any exposure to begin with, so I feel I now have a good initial understanding of how to use LangChain and do some interesting stuff with it. Stephen is a really great instructor. I have taken several of his classes and they are all well put together and you can tell he puts a lot of effort into the courses, and provides a lot of his knowledge and perspective. IMHO, you can't go wrong with taking one of Stephen's courses.
