I have been addicted to networking ever since the first time I heard about the CCNA certification. I remember hearing everyone say how big of a deal it was, which made me want it more than anything. I was climbing towers for a living at the time in sub zero temperatures. All I could think about was how getting my CCNA certification could be a way to a better opportunity. I told myself that one day I would be CCNA certified. After a lot of studying and time in the lab.....I passed! Now I am a Systems Engineer and all I do is networking. Every time I pass a cell tower I think about how much the CCNA has changed my life and I am grateful.
I decided to become a CCNA instructor during my path to the CCNA certification. While I tried different courses with terrible instructors...I thought about how I wished I could teach students a better way. Now with Udemy, I can.

This was my introduction to ASA firewalls so any information was good for breaking ground in this technology. The instruction felt rushed at times as configs were often pasted into CLI interfaces all at once instead of incremental and without much review after. I feel like more explanations could have been given regarding key components, like no explanation was given as to what a transformer set was. Also, even though the instructor mentioned he would match the configs of the transformer sets between devices, he didn't mention it must match to function. "Gotcha" scenarios to look out for from real life experiences helps to reinforce best practices.

I like the course allot. There is allot of great information and examples. The only issue is that I like to do the same things in the lab that is demonstrated during the lectures, but with differing software and the inability just to go out and buy a cisco asa license that is not always possible.

good starting off course, but not so for running labs.. The labs that are being explained in this course, are not thoroughly explained, and one can get lost. If you're going to have labs to help out with this course, then make a few more chapters to this course and work with the lab step by step. If someone who is a novice to this, and is trying to understand by a hands on lab, they will be lost with in a few minutes.

This course will describe briefly about ASA not deep knowledge about the topic, how it work and the what every command will do impact. The trainer has rushed through the traffic. Trainer has solid understanding about traffic and ability to deliver good content and description about the topic.

It is really a good course for beginners who what to get started with Cisco firewalls. Course covers basic concept, structure, and configurations, but I felt a lot of detail/explanation was missing. I really enjoyed the course for a beginner just getting started.

The course is really good. I just got stuck when configuring the ASA to use digital certificate for ssl VPN tunnel but I think I should investigate further how to get identity certificate from the CA and more. Thank you!

This is definitely not for a beginner. A real world example is brought up but then the instructor goes through the process so fast you can't possibly keep up. I'm giving this 3 stars because I'm sure that I'll be using this later once I learn more about ASA firewalls but for now I went through the entire course and was just overwhelmed.

I'm new to this, using an ASAv in GNS3. I'm not able to get a ping going, or know how to do the ASDM portion via GNS3. Edit: I'm sure the GNS3 issues I experienced, are simply due to lack of experience with the product. Maybe a section added on setting up the internet connectivity portions of the labs would be beneficial, other than that, it was fantastic.

It is a very good training. I have never configured or got in touch with a cisco firewall but i had experience with other firewalls in the past. Regardning the experience i was able to handle directly on the cisco but without the experience it is a good overwiev for beginners! Thank you very much Matt.
