Based on the ratings of 5,741 students, a sample of their written reviews and the syllabus, as the course stood in April 2026. No course pays to be reviewed.

This is two domains of the CISSP, not the whole exam. Domain 7 covers Security Operations and Domain 8 covers Software Development Security, across 67 lectures and about 8 hours. Domain 7 gets the bigger share, roughly 286 minutes against 197 for Domain 8. Thor Pedersen adds an 89 page study guide, 36 pages of quick sheets, 11 mind maps and 117 practice questions. It was last updated in April 2026. The course assumes some IT and security background, so it suits people already partway through their studies.

Reviewers like Pedersen's teaching. They call it easy to follow, clearly explained and digestible, and one says watching after reading each domain in the ISC2 guide made the material stick far better than text alone. Complaints are small but real. One reviewer finds it repetitive, another says some videos drag, and a third says the study guide misses the CMMI section. The harshest review, one star, calls the delivery a lazy monotone. A German reviewer found the spoken style tiring at first. Of 5,741 ratings, 3,715 are five stars and only 58 are one or two.
