Course Description
Welcome to the 3rd course of the series Classic Guitar Essentials.
Following the last 2 courses which were designed for complete beginners, this one starts where we left off.
In this course, we will dive from the start and learn brand new SCALES, which will cover the entire fretboard of the guitar, so if you are a beginner, I advise you to take it slowly and maybe take my previous 2 courses first. Then we will learn a new rhythm that will open the door to more complex music like Swan Lake by Tchaikovsky.
Arpeggios take a whole section here, as it is a crucial building block in your advancement as a guitarist. If you have been watching YouTube videos, I am sure you came across them but you don't know what it is. Here I will answer this question and many more about it.
Just like an athlete who is preparing for a marathon, you need to have the proper training if you want to become a classical guitarist. That's why I included the section Building Technique so you feel comfortable and confident when we start playing the final pieces "Greensleeves", "Gigue", and "Andante Op.31" by Sor. These are all Grade 1 from the London College of Music curriculum.
Even if you are not intending to take the exam, these masterpieces will provide a solid foundation of musical education for any classical guitar student. There is a wide content of musical repertoire here, all designed to take your guitar playing to a higher level than you are now.
I am excited about this course, and I hope I can help you in your journey. Start today and achieve your dream to become the classical guitarist you always wanted to be.

Hani Gamal
Hi, I am Hany Gamal. I live in Egypt. I studied photography and video editing at fine art college. Then I took a 2 years course with the New York Institute of Photography.
I studied guitar with The Royal School of Music, and I finished Grade 8 guitar back in 2004.
My real passion is teaching, so I teach everything I know... photography, guitar, and even Rubik's Cube - which I can do in less than 2 minutes.
I worked as a freelance photographer, a camera-man, a video editor, and a guitar tutor at International British schools.
I run a chess club in my school where I work as a music and performing art director.

I am really enjoying these classical guitar courses by Hani Gamal. I have purchased so far the first four levels and am currently working through the third. They are excellent and the instruction is clear and manageable. I personally have made so much progress. If you are on the fence about purchasing these courses, I encourage you to make the choice. You will not be disappointed! Thank you so much, Hani!

This, like the previous (Beginner parts) courses are very well structured and paced. I've been pleasantly surprised at how quickly I have progressed both in playing ability and in score reading. It's been fun learning, the pieces chosen are good tunes, and with enough challenges to make them interesting to return to several times. In summary these courses have been great in building a foundation of technique and knowledge that I will able to apply to scores and to my own music.

So far so good. I can see that moving into higher octaves using major closed scales will increase my knowledge and experience with the fretboard and increase my left hand dexterity. I did encounter one trouble spot, but maybe it was just me. I was left feeling a little confused in the section 3 lessons on arpeggios regarding the explanation of the 1-3-5, and how to apply it in different chords, and what it really means, versus how many notes are actually played for the chord.

Aaand part 3 - DONE! Another great course by Hani. :) Great choice of exercises, helped me to go through all of the lessons so smoothly, I actually feel like I'm getting better and more.. fluent? I'm so grateful I found Hani Gamal on udemy, already looking forward to part 4, but still need to practice Anandte for some time and master it. The repertoir again is excellent. I fell in love in Greensleeves. I knew the song but now.. I feel it! Thank you. :)

Magnificent course, way beyond expectations. I've been here only for 1 month (already completed first two courses in that month) and I can already play several pieces using multiple strings and chords, This third course focuses on scales and strengthening the left hand dexterity to play complex music. I'm learning so much and now when I see guitar players play a classical song like a sonata or partita from Bach, I fully understand how they're doing it. Hani is an excellent teacher.

I didn’t find this course as engaging as the first one, because there were fewer pieces to play. However I bought one of the books recommended, and have been using that too. Since I restarted playing the guitar after many years, I can see that I have made progress. Thanks for the course!

Thoroughly enjoying these Classical guitar courses and looking forward to the next ones in line!

Hani's course is wonderful. I was stuck for a long time with my playing and this course really helped me get back on track. The course structure is logical and challenging, but not intimidating. Hani is an excellent teacher and I'm finally starting to feel more confident and seeing real improvement. Very much looking forward to starting part 2 in this series!

I faithfully followed this course (prior to this i already knows the basic guitar first 5 frett (i completed the Hal Leonard Book and a couple of other books by myself since I have music theory and took a few lesssons on finger pick accompanient and strumming) , and i jump straight to this intermediate Part 1 I have never take any course on classical guitar and obviously it is different from playing those easy accompaniement style and strumming . very happy to experience playing classical guitar. Now carry on to Intermediate Level 2

I've been playing for a while now but had got stuck in a bit of a rut, this course has really helped me get going again. Although I was already familiar with some of the pieces, the detail Hani provided helped me correct some faults and kind of rebuild the foundations a bit. He is a very warm and engaging guy whose love of the instrument and music really come across, but in a subtle way rather than over the top enthusiasm.
