Claude Design & Claude Cowork to Figma: AI UI/UX workflow from brief to design system, prototype & Figma MCP handoff
Created by: Phong Designs AI System
Last updated August 2026
What you will learn
- Run a complete UI/UX project end-to-end: from a rough client brief to a hi-fi Figma design with a clickable prototype ready for developer handoff
- Use Claude AI (Cowork) to dissect a brief, research the business and users, and build personas, feature lists, sitemaps and user flows
- Generate hi-fi UI with Claude Design from one master spec file, refine it with visual feedback, and export the whole app as HTML
- Turn AI-generated UI into a real design system: W3C 3-tier tokens, Figma variables, text and effect styles, and a component library
- Automate Figma with Figma MCP: build components with full states, swap instances into your screens, and wire a clickable prototype
- Adopt the "AI is the engine, you are the director" mindset — use gate checkpoints so AI speeds you up without lowering quality

Course Description
This course contains the use of artificial intelligence.
What if you could take a rough client brief and ship a complete, hi-fi Figma prototype — on your own, in a fraction of the usual time?
This is a hands-on, project-based course on the AI UI/UX design workflow — you'll learn how to design with AI, combining Claude AI and a modern Figma AI workflow to go from brief to a real, developer-ready interface.
That's exactly what you'll do here. No dry theory, no toy exercises. You'll watch one real project — Pika, a mobile booking app for a pickleball court chain — travel the entire journey from a vague client email to a polished, token-based Figma file with a working clickable prototype. And you'll build it with me, step by step.
I've been a designer since 2011. I've watched the market shift from Photoshop to Figma — and now to AI. Here's the truth: designers who master an AI workflow now ship in days what used to take weeks. This course hands you that exact workflow.
THE METHOD: 20 STEPS · 8 PHASES · 3 WORK ZONES
Zone 1 — Think (Phases 1-3). 80% of an interface's quality is decided before the first pixel. Inside Claude Cowork you'll dissect the brief, interrogate the business model, analyze competitors, define a North Star metric, build four personas, and turn it all into a feature list, sitemap and user flows.
Zone 2 — Produce (Phase 4). Pack every decision into one master-spec file, feed it to Claude Design with a truly visual, prescriptive prompt, refine the result with screenshot feedback, and export the entire app as HTML.
Zone 3 — Finish (Phases 5-8). The part most courses skip. Extract your UI into a real design system — three W3C token files, Figma variables, text and effect styles — then let Claude drive Figma MCP to build a component library with states, swap instances into your screens, wire the clickable prototype, and package everything for developer handoff.
Along the way you'll internalize the mindset that makes AI work for you instead of against you: AI is the engine, you are the director. You set gates between phases, you judge what's good enough, and you handle the edge cases AI won't see on its own.
By the end, you won't have a folder of scattered exercises. You'll have one complete, portfolio-ready project — and a repeatable system you can run on your very next client brief.
Note: you'll need the Claude desktop app on a paid plan (Pro at minimum) and a Figma account. No coding required.
Let's get started.

Phong Designs AI System
AI won't replace designers. It will replace designers who don't know how to direct it.
After 15 years in UI/UX — through Photoshop, Sketch, and the Figma era — I've watched this field reinvent itself again and again. The winners were never the fastest at pushing pixels. They were the ones who learned to direct the new tool.
Today that tool is AI. And most designers use it wrong: they type one prompt, get a pretty screenshot, and can't hand it off to a developer. A screenshot isn't a product.
I teach the opposite — a complete, no-skipped-steps workflow where AI is the engine and you are the director, from a rough client brief all the way to a developer-ready Figma file.
What I focus on:
1. Courses — the full AI x UI/UX workflow. Not one clever prompt, but the whole real-world process: brief, research, hi-fi UI, a 3-tier design system, Figma with tokens and components, and a clickable prototype ready for handoff. Every course follows one real project, start to finish, so you leave with a portfolio piece, not just theory.
2. UI Kits — standardized, developer-ready design products. Clean tokens, structured components, consistent naming, so AI coding tools rebuild the interface with near-perfect accuracy. No guessing, no messy handoff. Teams ship faster; developers get an interface that's buildable from day one.
If you want to design and build products faster with AI, without losing quality, let's connect.

I was so excited to have found this course and immediately signed up for it. I wish I was walking away from this course having learnt everything it had promised but that is not the case. Here are the problems I faced with this course. ( Please note this is not meant to troll or discourage the creator, it is my genuine opinion as a UX/UI designer for over 15 years now and an avid learner. ) First of all the AI voiceover made the entire experience unbearable. The creator of the course explains why he chose to use an AI voiceover but it does not work in his favor at all. A human voice is better than an AI one, always! Second, the files attached to this course are extremely confusing, The student starter kit does not have any file named 'Pika". I even went through the Q&A and the AI help on the side. I still have not found it. The course just shows all the steps but it does not explain any of the steps in enough detail for one to grasp the concept or what is happening and why any of the steps were taken. Again, as I said, I have been a UI/UX designer for over 15 years now so I understand this workspace and the tools well and I still had a tough time understanding most of the reasoning behind what was being shown. The prompts should've been explained and shown on screen to understand exactly how Claude was being prompted in different stages. In the second last module the voiceover says 'Make sure you use GPT to prompt properly'. There was no explanation on how to even use GPT to prompt Claude. Prompting is the main means of communication with Claude for this entire process and yet barely anything is said about it. I was hoping I will be able to follow this class step by step but unfortunately that did not happen. Circling back to the voiceover, it was mismatched in a lot of places which again threw me off. I am giving it 3 stars for the effort that the creator has put in but not for the course itself.

The lecture was very informative and well-presented overall. However, I noticed that the audio/voice breaks intermittently at a few points during the lecture. It would be helpful to check and improve the audio quality in those sections for a smoother learning experience.

it doesn't work in claude in the same way, aI narration and gaps, placing text to fast, I have a feeling like this course was generated by AI not human. overal UX of this course is average

Very practical and well-structured. I really loved how the course broke down the entire process. Using AI to assist with UI/UX tasks is a game-changer, and this course shows you exactly how to do it efficiently in Figma.

Great learning experience. The instructor explained the transition from conceptualizing with Claude AI to designing in Figma perfectly. It's a fantastic course for anyone looking to speed up their product development and design workflow. 5 stars!

As a UI designer, I've taken quite a few AI courses recently, but this one stands out because it focuses on an actual production workflow rather than isolated tools. The explanations are clear, the project feels realistic, and the design system section alone was worth the price. I finished the course with a process I can actually use with clients.

Excellent course! This is one of the most practical AI UI/UX courses I've taken. The workflow is clear and easy to follow, covering everything from analyzing a client brief to creating a polished Figma design system and clickable prototype. I especially liked how Claude AI and Figma work together to speed up the design process without sacrificing quality. The lessons are well-structured, and I was able to apply the techniques immediately to my own projects. Highly recommended for designers, developers, and anyone interested in modern AI-powered UI/UX workflows.
