Course Description
AI is changing the way we code. In this course, you’ll learn how to work with that change using Claude Code, an agentic coding tool that lives in your terminal and fits naturally into a real development workflow.
You'll create custom slash commands to automate common tasks, build custom hooks to connect to Claude Code's lifecycle, and adopt a spec-driven workflow that keeps you in control as projects grow. We’ll also extend Claude beyond the codebase using MCP servers to interact with external sources and API's - like Firebase, Figma and Context7.
You'll learn about skills, to teach Claude Code how to code your way, and how to install plugins to extend Claude Code's capabilities.
You’ll create subagents to handle focused tasks - like design extraction and code reviews - and integrate Claude directly with GitHub to review pull requests and work independently on issues. You'll also be using Claude Code on the web - a cloud platform allowing us to spin up coding tasks remotely, continuing to work while you're not at your desk.
Finally, we'll deploy the app using Vercel, and spin up tasks remotely using Claude Code for the web, previewing those features live before they're merged into the production branch.

A Little About Me...
Hey gang, my name's Shaun and since a young age I've had an obsession for nearly anything tech-related. I've been coding since about the age of 15 (half of my life, now...phew!) and work as a full-stack web developer and online instructor.
I also run a well-known development tutorial YouTube channel called The Net Ninja with nearly 1 million subscribers. So feel free to browse some of my latest free tutorials on there if you want to check out my teaching style :).
My specialities mainly gravitate around one central language (and my first love) - JavaScript. I've been programming with it for around 12 years and - as with any long-term relationship - have had the pleasure of seeing it's ugly side as well as it's beautiful side. So I know the pitfalls to avoid when using it, and pass these on when appropriate in my tutorials.
As well as teaching, I've also helped to create many very popular, UK-based eCommerce websites, as well as a large amount of smaller, independent websites as well.
Other languages & technologies I use and teach are - Node.js, Vue, React, Python, Ruby, PHP, HTML & CSS.

This course hits the right spot for me. It is very well presented with topics coming in a logical order. The level of detail is just right and I am learning SO much. I like the presentation style and I will be seeking out other courses from this author. THANK YOU

Shaun keeps coming up with what's relevant in today's world. Definitely learned new things about Claude Code including Skills, Sub-Agents, Custom Commands, Hooks, and a balanced workflow where we are in control, while benefitting from the agentic AI tools.

It was a good introduction to Claude Code and the various features offered. I wouldn't rate it as Masterclass - as that implicitly states that it is an expert. It does provide a reasonable foundation but not at expert level. I also expected that the material will be updated but it wasn't - for example, Figma free version doesn't let you extract design features and hence most of the section couldn't be implemented. I noticed a number of queries related to this and there was no response or update on this issue.

Good course that goes through the main features of Claude Code, with examples and a little background on how it works. I think a lot of time sometimes is spent on the specifics of the response of a prompt rather that the actual feature, but it is not a big deal.

Great course. Was a little hard to follow due upgrades to the LLM and the answers were very different to what Shaun showed. I'd like the somewhat SDD approach, I personally think that is the way to go. I also confirm the latest chapter that having your technical skills up is very much a go to area. I hope I can follow this course fully with my AI account, but I am sceptic that a 20 euro account is not cutting it anymore. I think I am going to have problems with the agents running in the wild.

The course was well paced and very helpful for me to learn how to use Claude Code. There are a couple of improvements I would like to see: 1) It would be nice to have the prompts used by the instructor in his git repo so I could also cut and paste as easily as he does. 2) It would be nice if he placed how his code looked after each session to his git repo, to compare what he has with what we have. 3) In the Sub-Agents section, it would be helpful if he discussed how sub-agents consume usage at a much higher rate than using Claude Code regularly. From some web searches, it appears sub-agents consume around 5x the number of tokens. I definitely saw a marked increase in my usage when I was using the sub-agents. Using them was helpful, but I think users should be made aware of how much they do consume.

Very helpful in explaining the basics. The example heist app showed Claude capabilities without overwhelming with too much technical know-how. I also liked how the lessons are divided to prevent overlapping of what needs to be understood in each chapter.

The course was generally good and the instructor explained the concepts well. However, I found that some of the content was quite repetitive. It felt like the same topics were gone over multiple times without adding much new information. If the repeated parts were condensed, it would be a much better and faster-paced course. Still, I learned a lot. Thank you!
