Course Description
There are three types of programmers – those who write small programs, those who write big programs and those who write small programs that do big things. The last type of programmers are often considered as experts.
Although, originally programs required hours of long coding to do even the smallest of computation, today one line programs can do so much more than the n number of lines required. The need to break away from the tedious long and complex coding is what resulted in the creation of functional programming languages.
Functional programming languages depend on mathematical functions to compute problems and the results of a code are dependent on the arguments put into the function rather than the statements.
This is where Clojure, a functional programming language comes into the picture.
Clojure is a functional programming language that is a dialect of Lisp Programming language. The language was designed for Java Virtual Machines (JVMs), Common Language Runtime and JavaScript engines. It uses a programming approach that allows you to write much of the application code as a series of pure functions and is immutable.
Clojure has a macro system and treats code as data, a term that means programming structure of the language is similar to the language’s syntax. The language was created by Rich Hickey because he wanted a language that was a LISP-based functional programming language that was designed for concurrency and was symbiotic with an established platform. So, he created the powerful Clojure programming language!
And we created a course to help users learn this powerful functional language.
Our Clojure tutorial is a complete course that is designed to teach you not only the conceptual and fundamentals of Clojure but to also help you understand the design behind the language. It will cover all ins and outs of Clojure, including the basics.
Once we understand the basics, we will delve further into the language by dissecting small blocks of Clojure code to understand how it functions. Additionally, we will also go into detail about the various features of Clojure such as abstractions, data structures, forms, macros, symbols, functions, vector types, sequences, lists, etc.
So, what are you waiting for? Click enroll and let’s start writing small programs that do bigger things!!

In all it was a decent course. I was able to learn new ways on implementing Clojure concurrency models. I did find and error on how compose was used in Clojure. I felt it should have been corrected. He did manage to explain some concepts clearly. The Gradle part was a bit confusing for me.

Could be more detailed. Sometimes it seems to jump over the details about the language and underlying concepts. It is more like a quick overview of Clojure than a actual course aiming to make the student proficient in the tool

I feel like there needs to be a pause in these videos in order to allow the user/learning to run through the code as we work through the video. I found myself pausing the video to run my code over and over again.

The course was very conceptual, but did include examples of how to implement Clojure and ClojureScript. However, the examples are outdated and the limited responses in the Q&A seem to indicate the instructor is no longer active. The pace and tone of the instructor were tiring to listen too, but you could tell that he has an in-depth knowledge of the material.

I think this course is good, but it isn't comprehensive enough. It does a good job going through the theory and how Clojure works at the starts. However, I think that it brushes over some topics too fast. In addition, I think more lectures further developing ideas of these rushed topics would make for a better, more complete course. Secondly, this course would benefit from mini-projects or reasonably in-depth problems for the user to go through at the end of a topic (especially when it came to the web application at the end).

The teacher is great!! he explains everything step by step, so it is easy to understand. I am really happy with this course so far.

I've been very positively surprised so far on the theoretical treatment of clojure, and how to setup the system to run several jvm languages from the same IDE. I hope the actual treatment of the clojure language is as good. Anyway, this was so good I went and already bought the scala course by same instructor. halfway through: not as satisfied with the language part so far.. lots of concepts thrown in seemingly haphazardly and often left unexplained. as an example, the code: (#(map * % %2 %3)[1 2 3][4 5 6][7 8 9]) was given, saying that map uses operator * on the three vectors, but how the %'s work is left unsaid.

This course is a must for anyone who wants learn Clojure Programming Language. A truly great course that simplifies the language, its syntax and even its numerous features. A bit on the lengthy for the introduction, but it is definitely concise, clear and informative.

I have finished almost 1/3 of the course and not seen any introduction into the clojure syntax so far. Yes, I know it is to be presented in the next section but the first sections are packed with way too much distracting information. E.g., it is not really helpful to get a lengthy introduction into the gradle setup for the integration of various JVM languages into a single project before any clojure code has been shown to the learner.
