Course Description
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is the gold standard of psychotherapy because of its proven effectiveness in improving mental health and wellbeing. This course will give you everything you need to understand what CBT is and how therapists use it to improve people's mental health.
CBT uses the cognitive model to help us better understand ourselves and make sense of our difficulties and uses a series of cognitive and behavioural strategies to make positive changes in our lives so that we feel better.
We will cover:
What CBT is and how it works
Step-by-step how CBT is used
How the brain works and how we can conceptualise problems and understand ourselves
How thoughts, feelings and behaviours are connected
Understanding intrusive thoughts, worry and rumination
The importance of building a strong therapeutic relationship
We will then look in more detail at how CBT applies to depression, anxiety, social phobia, panic disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), insomnia and addiction. We’ll also look beyond CBT as newly emerging CBT-based psychotherapies.
The course comes with a comprehensive handbook as well as downloads and example worksheets so that you can understand how therapists deliver CBT and practice the exercises on yourself. This course is accredited by the International Association of Therapists. On completion, you'll receive the standard Udemy certificate of completion. If you wish to become a registered member of the BABCP, you will require further training.

It was worthy to attend, I learned so many new things and instructor was excellent. found this CBT training to be highly insightful and practical. The facilitators explained complex concepts clearly and provided useful examples that made theory easy to apply in real-life practice. I especially appreciated the emphasis on structured assessment, cognitive restructuring, and the Unified Protocol approach. Overall, it has strengthened my skills and confidence in applying CBT techniques effectively."

The presenter was informative and precise. The presenter seems like he encourages our clients to change their behavior to change their thinking. I thought one has to change their thinking to change their behavior

The way of delivery and how concepts are broken down are very bite sized and informative. Actually better than what is taught in rote based teaching method. The role play modules are worth trying here in the course.
