Not recommended for November 2021. Gitlab changed a lot in 3 years. Speaking a lot about best practices in DevOps world, but no automated way to install and configure servers with Packer and Ansible. Manually running commands it's not best practices. No real kubernetes app deployed. Very often you mention the kubernetes environment while in reality it's the VM that runs side by side with the kubernetes nodes. I would liked to see more Infrastructure as Code for the setup of the could and gitlab instance.

Hello Syed, thank you for your Course. I just was misleaded by the title concerning Kubernetes: I expected to learn more about how projects which are implemented using Kubernetes clusters fit into the Gitlab CI/CD flow. Instead you are teaching how to setup GitLab using Kubernetes. Otherwise it's good. Thank you, Stefan

I think the title is abusing the terms "bootcamp", "best practices" and "complete". The course saved me a few hours of learning time, but I am still far from where I wanted to be given the title of the course. I was hoping this would cover the hosted gitlab.com runners (saving me hosting $$ for builds.) I was also hoping all the Google Cloud Kubernettes infrastructure would be driven from code/configs in Gitlab using the GCP API's. (The instructor provides a commands cheat sheet for manually configuring the GCP elements.)

Loved the flipped classroom style of teaching. Jumping hand-on directly into the nitty gritty gave me an immediate send of increase in my skills and knowledge. Thank you Syed and team for this valuable content and your efforts.

I have taken DevOps basic course before. This best practice course is much better. The instructor is great with his presentation and trying to focus on best practices areas of DevOps. Although Kubernetes section was great, I found the conceptual part yet more appealing. Over all a great course. Thanks.

Syed is a great instructor is very responsive to answering questions and is quick to provide clarifications. I enjoy his courses. This course provides great well structured content with detailed explanations as well as applications of concepts through hands-on lectures. Thank you Syed for your efforts. Keep up the good work. Thanks.

I got nice understanding of what is possible, but also lots of questions: - why did we create cluster on GKE at all when he is then using GCE Instances to install everything (gitlab instance and runner) - how is ssl configured? - never got any explanation on gitlab-cy.yml, on any pipeline, checking results, pushing to production, etc... - there were some visible errors on page with configuration of kubernetes (not explained) - why was prometheus and other options gray? To me it almost looks the start was great, but then was really slow and full of presentation material and the core was not touched.

Really disappointed in this course. Don't waste your money if you know anything at all about Gitlab already. It wastes a number of lectures on how to install Gitlab, how to install Virtual Box, Ubuntu. It doesn't give any info you won't learn from quick web searches for the problems you hit.

By Michael Opre on 5/27/2018

I miss examples for using kubernetes with gibtlab. It is only explained, how configure and integrate kubernetes. There is no explanation of using kubernetes with gitlab. And sometimes it is disjointed. It will be created two gitlab instances, but never explained why! This is only a example.

Great content covered in this course so far. I like the flipped classroom model. I have some knowledge of the DevOps cycle, but these lectures have provided me several additional tips and techniques - best practices that I could use within my organization. Thank you to the instructor for the efforts. The pace is just perfect! and the instructor is easy to follow and understand. Overall great experience and a great course. I would, however, suggest to add to this CI/CD workflow lectures. It is worth the money! Definitely recommended for all who wish to gain solid tips and techniques. Thanks.
