Our take
Based on the ratings of 22,549 students, a sample of their written reviews and the syllabus, as the course stood in January 2026. No course pays to be reviewed.
This is Hitesh Choudhary's attempt at a single course that covers the whole modern JavaScript stack, and at nearly 100 hours across 331 lectures it comes close. The syllabus runs from HTML and CSS through Tailwind, JavaScript, Git, Node and Express, MongoDB, a ten-project React section, Next.js, SQL, Fastify, Docker and a couple of AI-flavoured full-stack builds. It was published in 2024 and last updated in January 2026, so the tooling is current. About 85,000 students have enrolled and 22,500 have left reviews, averaging 4.5 stars.
Reviewers like the teaching style. One says Choudhary pushes students to read the docs and work things out rather than spoon-feeding, and another calls the early sections great for beginners because of the exercises. The complaints are consistent too. The pace is fast, and even a four-star reviewer says you'll need outside study to fill gaps. A one-star review says the backend section is under-explained and disconnected between lectures, another insists complete beginners will get little out of it without prior Node, React and Next.js exposure, and even the five-star fan of the exercises wishes they continued into the backend. One reviewer mentions video playback trouble.
So who is it really for? Someone who already knows a little HTML and JavaScript, wants the full MERN and Next.js picture in one place, and is comfortable pausing to read documentation. The syllabus gives far more hours to backend, databases and deployment than to the HTML and CSS basics, and that is its main draw. Anyone wanting a gentler start should look at The Complete Full-Stack Web Development Bootcamp or The Web Developer Bootcamp 2026 instead. Those who want breadth and modern tooling, and don't mind doing some of the connecting themselves, get a lot of hours for the money.
Pros
- Goes well past MERN: Next.js, Prisma, NeonDB, Fastify, Docker and SQL each get their own sections
- Last updated January 2026, and reviewers say the material still feels current
- 54 quizzes and 45 coding exercises, with hands-on challenge sections running through the JavaScript material
- A reviewer says the teaching encourages reading docs and self-reliance rather than copying along
Cons
- Fast pace; even happy reviewers say they needed outside study to fill gaps
- Backend sections draw low-star reviews for feeling disconnected and under-explained
- Exercises stop after the frontend, so the second half is watch-and-build only
The course is very extensive covers almost all the topics including good projects in a fast paced manner, so you will need some of your own study and research too to fill the gap
Listed as All Levels, but reviewers say true beginners struggle once the backend starts. Some prior JavaScript helps.
What you will learn
- Become a full stack developer
- Master of Javascript ecosystem
- Build any project for your company or for freelance projects
- Full stack with MERN, GIT and many advance topics

Something only wizards like Hitesh can pull this off. a wonder, any aspiring developer wishes to get, or prolly say they dont even know , how great it is actually to have a great experienced teacher vs its all free, you can learn...now in post AI era, rigorous qna is the way ( yes it is btw to a lot of extent ). But, you cannot learn all of it and the essence/core of it. how much, when, why, all of it in their interconnected forms can only be given to you through years of real ground experience, requires humongous teaching, pre teaching hours. I hope, people prioritize purchasing courses and not try to save money sacrificing the essential thing of their knowledge base while using that money for other secondary stuff, which could have been sacrificed(yes, i deliberately use the word sacrifice : when you have limited budget growing up in developing & under developed countries )

I really liked how this course is structured and delivered . Basically the way Mr. H sir explaining the topics is really helpful and his advice to make a habit of learning from docs really helped me to understand the things more and exploring more into them , this course doesn't feel like spoon feeding it really encouraged me to learn by myself .

the course is very well made by hitesh sir im on backend section right now , and im enjoying learning , i took so much time to rate this course because i thought i should first complete the whole frontend part before rating , and i have to say i learned so much , my logic building is weak as of now , but i take my time i read the code 3 to 4 times put it into claude and and get the logic line by line , now i can say that i can easily understand javascript code of DOM , but there is a little issue with the assigment section of html, css, and java script that when writing code if the logic is correct and still showing the exact output asked in question it shows an error , and we have to write the exact code written by the author to make it succesfull , i request the author to please resolve this issue , the course is well made , and i always take notes of what hitesh sir says

This is one of the best course you'd get anywhere. Besides learning, one important thing about a stream or topic is, to LOVE it. Hitesh Sir makes you fall in love of the topic. He'd teach you complex stuffs in such an ease and explanations that you'd find it really easy. He not only teaches to code, but makes you able to think and build yourself. I am highly satisfied so far. One small request would be, it would be really great if small new additional sections could be added after some times....(like some new sections were introduced). It would keep the eagerness of learning intact!

Hello Sir, I hope you are doing well. I wanted to sincerely thank you for all the knowledge and guidance you provide through ChaiCode Cohort 26 batch. I have learned a lot from your courses on Udemy, and they have helped me improve my skills significantly. I was very interested in joining Cohort 26, but unfortunately, I am not in a financial position to afford it right now. So, I am continuing my learning through your Udemy courses and free content. I wanted to ask respectfully if there might be any scholarship, discount, or special offer in the future that students like me could benefit from. If such an opportunity becomes available next year, I would be very grateful to participate. Thank you again for inspiring and helping so many students. I truly appreciate your efforts. Best regards, Sidhartha

This course is a taught in a great manner... yeah of course because it's taught by one of my favorite instructors - hitesh choudhary sir.. I liked his teaching style since I followed his tutorials on their channel - chai aur code.. Two things to consider in any course 1. Is the instructor teach well and also industry experienced person? 2. Are industry concepts explained in that course? So this course covers both of that conditions and hitesh sir just goes beyond the basics

fix the website as it have some issues like there is one error pop up that server tried to run video serveral times, do u want to close window also please add dark mode for website and there is a minor issue of minimizing the screen with mouse double click as the screen gets Black when minimized with mouse double click however the f button works fine

The course is very good. I was able to build a full-stack application end-to-end using Next.js, MongoDB, and TypeScript. Some sections could have clearer explanations, but if you’re willing to do your own research alongside the course, you’ll be fine. A lot of advanced concepts are covered here. This course is not designed to hold students’ hands, but if you spend enough time learning the concepts with an open mind, you’ll find real value in it. The course goes beyond the level of most typical online courses. One piece of feedback: in the full-stack and React sections, it would be much easier to follow if the instructor showed the data flow more clearly, especially how the UI updates state. That alone would make the course much easier for beginners to understand.

ok I've completed till GitHub topic till now. I've to say this course as every high end front end topics and proper structured code base. we have to do soo much of self study to go in this flow. I'm happy to choose this promising course in Udemy . it could be kept as a roadmap genuinely following the sequel but require too much of self study and effort to match to understand thoroughly
