It all started with an idea. I wanted freedom... badly. Freedom from work, freedom from boredom, and, most of all, the freedom to choose. This simple idea grew to define me; it made me become an entrepreneur.
As I strived to gain freedom, overtime I realized that with everything that you do you can either (1) convince someone, somehow, to do it with you or (2) figure out how to do it yourself.
Due to a lack of financial resources (and probably the ability to convince people to do high quality work for free), I decided to learn. Then learn some more. Then some more. My path of learning website design started a long time ago. And yes, it was out of need not desire. I believed I needed a website for a company that I started. So I learned how to do it. The company died, my skills lived on... and got better and better.
It took me a while after learning web design (html/css) to actually start learning programming (web application, storing "data", user logins, etc). I tinkered with Wordpress, believing it could be a "user" site, but I was mistaken. Sure there are/were hacks for that, but they were hacks/work-arounds and simply not-what-wordpress-was-indended-to-be. Wordpress is for blogs/content. Plain and simple.

Great course, not gonna lie, but to get the most out of it, you should do it after doing TryDjango (free one) and another Core course from this author and before Tweetme (its great btw that these courses have some continuity instead of being completely separate). This course teaches some complicated concepts (bootstrap, jquery, cbv, api) that will be extremely useful to know doing tweetme but as a first course in Django they might be quite overwhelming. Great job, i recommend, but for a first course its best to use TryDjango and another core. Then this, then tweetme. I bought all these courses and decided thats the best order to learn and get the most out of it. Also, its good to learn some basic frontend on your own because it might seem that frontend is easy and a waste of time but if you have to learn both this and the framework it might be a lot of new knowledge.

The approach is really practical, somehow different from what I am used to. I have started getting hands dirty really quickly. Reccomended.

I keep coming back to this material for consultation.

Everything starts off well enough, and then midway (lesson 6 or 7) you need to leave the course and go to Youtube, where outdated content makes the course impossible to follow. The material is hastily presented there leaving anyone who didn't already now how to set up Django totally at a loss. For me this was a waste of money. And I have done plenty of programming in other languages. Of course, since things stop there, the rest of the course will never be used. As I said, a waste of money.

now that this is written for django 1.8, we can get down to business without the constant change that django brings. Thanks Justin!

After enrolling in Justin's Django Matchmaker course, I realized that I needed to learn more about the fundamentals of Django. This helped me fill in the gaps. For anyone interested in learning Django, start here.

This course answers a handles a lot of those burning questions you might have after you finish any of the other Django courses offered either by Justin or any of the other teachers. You might wonder about pushing to Heroku. You might wonder about serving static files through AWS. Here is where you come for those answers, and more. There is even a tutorial included that goes through a full, albeit simple Django project. I have seen this tutorial mimicked by other instructors so that shows that Justin is the seminal reference for Django on Udemy. Get as many of his courses as you can. He is awesome.

This course is full of useful stuff. It goes over all the different tools that you can us. From setting up to deployment on Heroku. Third course I buy from him and he never disappointed me.

The CORE course is much better than the original CFE. Justin actually goes into the 'why' instead of just going through the motions like with the original CFE. I just wish the upcoming videos were complete :)
