This class is targeted at those who have already taken an introductory class in Django Rest Framework covering all the basics. From that perspective this class is excellent since Gregory covers more advanced topics in customizing models, views and serializers in a very understandable manner. His teaching style is very casual and he makes errors which help you better understand what to do when you encounter errors. The code to invoke the debugger is very helpful, even though this can also be achieved by using and IDE debugger. debugger in a similar manner.

The course is suitable for beginners in the Django rest framework. The concepts are clearly explained with examples. But there are more things to cover like validations and updating in the nested serializers. Overall, this is a good start.

Excellent . He uses Django 2 ( comapared others using Django 1.11) The student must learn the rest frame work itself without continuously having the Under the hood look. ( It is for advanced users) . Sorry for giving less stars previously. Great job.

It's a good course for beginners (some Django experience might be needed though): the trainer goes step by step, explaining almost all of the basic features the framework offers. I'd recommend it as a good starting point before you go to more advanced courses.

Good course. Covers a lot of questions. It's very helpful that there is Deployment chapter and model permission lessons in course. Nive to have: Please remove some sound issues (noise when your screen is turned right-left). Thanks

I have taken lots of courses. This course is disappointing. While the DRF part is decent, the instructor more often than not types code even before explaining the intent of what he wants to accomplish. Example, when creating models he creates additional relationships without clearly mentioning why he is doing that. Make sure you have enough Django knowledge before taking this course. For DRF part, if you want a very very fast intro then go for this else you are better off reading the documentation.

I think it's a good course, and Django Rest Framework's mechanisms are well explained. The thing is, some HTTP/JSON/REST basics are not well covered or respected, and the Python code is not idiomatic at all. I would recommend this course for people that are already good with Python/Django, and not to complete beginners to avoid such traps.

Good stuff Gregors, just what I have been looking for My only feedback is that you could have been a bit more organized in your delivery, you are obviously very knowledgeable so you might have felt you didn't need to, but there are lectures here and there where you kind of jump around too much which could be confusing for minds not as gifted as yours, i.e. Mine :) . Still think it deserves a 5-start just cuz in the end we are working on a well structured API

I would like to give my honest feedback on this course, I was on a requirement to learn & implement Django, I have even gone through few other courses but still, I was not certain how to start for my real-world application. After attending a couple of chapters I am able to start with my development. The instructor is very good and he has in-depth knowledge on the platform and he will even make you familiar with the internals of the Django code, which is the best part and I did not see any other instructor did the same in my previous courses in Django. No doubt I will rate this 5/5.

By Steve Wehba on 9/11/2018

The course is not perfect. The instructor's accent is sometimes a bit difficult to understand, and he frequently corrects on-the-fly coding mistakes which a bit more preparation could have avoided. However — and this is the important point — you will learn about the Django REST Framework, and you will come away with new found insights. So, overall I recommend the course, and, in fact, I would be happy to take another, more advanced course from the same instructor.
