Are you thinking about pursuing a career as a Data Analyst or Data Scientist?

Do you ever think that your career could take a leap forward if you would have more knowledge and skills in the world of data?

Perhaps you are even feeling overwhelmed by the number of courses available or by the fact that your life is already too full to concentrate on one more course?

I am Nikolai Schuler, I am a data scientist and BI consultant, and I have been there too...

A few years ago I noticed that the world of data benefits from many new tools and technologies. However, I also realized that it is extremely difficult to get trained in the field: Practical courses with real quality content are rare and are often structured in such a way that they are incompatible with a working life full of other tasks and activities.

While going through hours of research and training, I came up with the idea of creating a course that would offer extremely valuable content but that would be at the same time easy to follow due to its structure.

My goal is to help as many people as possible to pursue their desired career in this new Digital Age by enabling them to upgrade their data analysis skills. I am proud to say that I am heading in the right direction as my courses have already found their audience in over 170 countries and received thousands of positive feedbacks.

Extremely well organized, clear and concise explanations with a lot of examples to understand better each concept. Was really nice to see the usage of various technologies to achieve the teaching goal, getting to know a few more I was not aware of. Added lots of value and usable knowledge in an extremely well organized and sequential approach. Highly recommended.

To someone who knows some SQL and OLPT databases, getting introduced to data warehouse and OLAP, this course is superb as the first experience, the first move toward this direction for getting the overall idea of this universe. I don't believe a single course should be enough, but this is a very good starting point.

By Joel Williams on 8/29/2026

The course is very comprehensive for an intro to data warehousing. I go back and look at my notes and it seems like I'm learning a lot and retaining it. A couple of the examples could be developed a bit more and are not crystal clear, e.g. role-playing dimensions didn't show the SQL which would have helped. The initial presentation of dimensions was a bit confused where order_line_id should be called product_id. Unfortunately the practical aspects don't always run so can't give 5 stars. We create an AWS database, never use it again, then create a PostgreSQL database locally which then doesn't have the tables we created (hint: you can use DBeaver to send the tables from AWS to your local PostgreSQL and continue the course, but he could include a video on this). We also don't have Pentaho anymore because they discontinued the Community Edition. Personally I really enjoyed replicating the steps in Apache Hop, which wasn't perfectly smooth but sometimes you want a challenge to learn. The rest of the course isn't top-notch; and I respect what he is trying to do which is expose us to as many technologies and ideas as possible. It's comprehensive for what it is. The best true beginner intro I've seen on this site is by Gillian Staniland. This is good for ETL, tools and coverage (for a basic course).

I thought the course was good in that it explained a lot of concepts. I found the section on building an actual ETL very helpful. As is par for the course with Udemy, the material is somewhat dated. Pentaho CE Data Integration has not been updated in a while, so to successfully complete the course I used Apache Hop. There are some differences in terminology between them (Pentaho "Transformations" are called "Pipelines" in Hop, for example). But overall it gave me a pretty good foundation to build on.

Really enjoyed the course. Information was supplied clear and concise and very educational. Learned a lot. Will be beneficial to anyone wanting to understand the fundamentals of data warehousing and how to approach star schemas without being overwhelmed by technical jargon and assumptions. Highly recommended.

So basically the whole course in the first half felt a lot of theory with very vague examples that I was not really able to understand and relate to which restricted my understanding of the topic as a whole. Then at one point in the spoon connectivity where data integration was being taught one of the tables was randomly selected without any code given as a resource in the lecture which made it hard to follow and eventually even though I followed all the installations steps from the beginning I wasn't able to execute it. And after some practical examples it was back to a lot of theory with vague examples.

Wonderful course! Being BI-tool-agnostic, it provides a strong foundation for further work with Business Intelligence. The level of detail and the pace feel just right, making the content engaging and insightful without becoming overwhelming. Absolutely recommend it.

By Arif Eker on 4/18/2026

The course is genuinely informative from a theoretical perspective. The trainer is very knowledgeable and conveys their knowledge to us effectively. However, the ETL Process section needs updating. This is because, initially, we created a database on AWS and signed up for an Airbyte subscription, but instead we developed the ETL process using Pentaho. This is a bit of a let-down. Of course, this doesn’t prevent us from learning.

Danke!

By Alexander Watts-Barnett on 1/12/2026

This was a fantastic course, I wish I had found it when I started working in data, it would have really cleared up a lot of things. All the explanations are very straightforward with enough detail to make them stick but not so much as to be overbearing. The hands-on can be a little hard to follow because of some platform switching but the content is very good.
