Course Description
This course has everything you need to learn and understand Differential Equations. Differential equations are a class of equation that involves the use of differentials (derivatives) in their construction. Differential equations are used in many areas of science, particularly in physics, where they are used to model real-world phenomena such as the propagation of waves.
This course covers:
Ordinary differential equations (ODEs) - first and second order
Laplace Transform and Fourier Series
Partial differential equations (PDEs) - including common equations such as the Wave Equation and the Heat Conduction Equation
Numeric solutions of differential equations - e.g., Euler's Method, Runge-Kutta
Modeling and solving differential equations using MATLAB and Maple.
Course pre-requisites:
Fundamental understanging of differentiation and integration
Knowledge of common integration operations (integration by parts, integration by substitution)
Basic understanding of numerical computing (required for numerical methods)
Access and basic knowledge of common CAS packages such as MATLAB, Maple, Mathematica, etc.
This course is presented as a series of hand-written lectures where we discuss the relevant topics. I also present approaches to using CAS (Computer-aided Algebra Systems) to solving differential equations either analytically or symbolically.
It is recommended that you augment your study of differential equations on this course with a good textbook on differential equations.
This course will continue to evolve and improve based on feedback from the course participants. Please leave feedback!

Me ayudó a complementar ciertos conocimientos del área de ecuaciones diferenciales que estudié en la universidad.

An awesome explanation, helped me save the semester. And I learned another things I didnt even need. 10/10 would take it again

This course has been very useful for understanding a difficult topic. I would like more computer matlab examples. The instructor should slow down the pace and perhaps organize the work better to improve understanding.

Like the short well explained videos.Could improve by adding more detailed solutions rather than jumping from one block of the answer to the other assuming the viewer already knows the steps in between. Overall very good though!

Clear communication & simply presented. However, the presenter is moving very fast and I am having to replay various slides or stop and work through them in more detail. Struggling with Laplace transforms a bit, especially in understanding the s term. The latter bit of the course was presented too fast. It felt like the Heat Conduction Equation, Wave Equation lectures did not add as much value as they could have because they were glanced over. Some problems and solutions would have been nice.

This is an overall decent course. This is not in depth for those who would like to learn differential equations in detail; however, this is a good refresher course for those who know differential equations and or need a quick refresher.

the course is very precise and clear but lack of examples. it's good for revision before exam but not enough for student who is new to differential equation

Very well paced and thorough review of differential equations. Would have liked even better if there was a portion on application of differential equation in quantitative finance/stochastic methods.

This has been an amazing class! I'm taking Differential Equations soon, and it's been very helpful to see a complete map of the course beforehand!
