I found this course very informative and has helped me understand the basics of Django. I have many more questions now but I feel I have a good starting point to go off and find the answers on my own. I was a little disappointed with the last Section: Django Linode Deployment I feel it would have been more informative if you had gone through the deployment of the output from Section 15, this would have covered linking the Linode server to an existing repository and the complexities with doing that (especially getting the correct folder in Git to sync with the Linode server). It looks like I will just have to figure that bit out myself. Now it is time to investigate BootStrap a bit more and commence the building of a website.

Course is very good for starters, you get a very good overview of django capabilities and server deployment. The lecturer explains clearly and very understandable. I missed though some practical project to follow through the complete course. So that in the end you have a little project that gathers everything learnt during the course. Later on that is often a better source (than scrolling through the videos) to come back for references.

While I think Jose is a great teacher and he has a good and clear way of explaining things, and there's a good understanding of how Django works on the back-end, I feel this course is lacking in some areas. i.e. there's no exercises/quizzes to test what we learn throughout the course, there's no projects to build an actual functioning website and we don't even see him build a fully functioning website, only a few projects with a few forms and that's it. As for the front-end, there's only some very basic styling with CSS taught that we never even put to an use in any other lecture, so if you want to learn the basics of Django this is a good course, otherwise (if you want to learn or see how a full website development project gets done) purchase a different course. Definitely not a zero to hero in web development with Django as the description states.

For someone who is just starting the journey of web development, it is a great tutorial but for those who already know what web development is and have experience of it using other programming languages and frameworks (just like me), the first half of the tutorial may seem too boring. The tutorial almost gives all the essential things to start real life web developing but it lacks some aspects including working with images, files, and more details on the User class or maybe creating a custom look for the admin panel. It might have been a nice idea to include a small project like the library project at the end from 0 to 100 in a way that it is really deployable to the real world. Overall, I am satisfied.

A very detailed introduction to Django by Jose Portilla. The way he teaches is very informative. Even though a lot of things are still very unclear, there is still the documentation of Django, which is essential. I would advise everyone to create a project after the course and use and understand the Django documentation to achieve the requirements to become a backend developer. Happy coding to everyone!

This is a really good course to get you introduced to Django and Python web development. Jose is in my opinion one of the best instructors on Udemy, a natural teacher. His pace of speaking is good. His speech is clear. I would definitely recommend this course. I also took his SQL course so I know I will be able to follow along with his courses.

One of the best beginner Django 4 courses I've taken. The course offers primers to prerequisite areas leading into core Django subject matter. Most importantly, the course repeats various Django project/app setup/config steps as part of new lessons which introduce new areas, a form of learning through repetition and immersion. It's effective. The audio is recorded at a normal pace allowing speed up to +2 as needed.

Awesome course! I'm extremely pleased with the content and delivery of this course. 10/10 would recommend to anyone that's looking to understanding the basics of full-stack development with Django/Python . There's obviously more to learn but I truly feel like I have a solid foundation now and I'm comfortable with creating my own project and utilizing the documentation to make my site great. Thanks for publishing such a great course Jose, keep it up!

This is a very interesting course. At this point I'm half-way through, and I've enjoyed how clearly the instructor presents the ideas and processes involved in creating Django sites and apps. However, the course would probably benefit form having a more in-depth example, in which the learner and code alongside to develop a real-world Django driven web application - perhaps something like a personal portfolio website with a blog app, a resume/CV app, a certificates app to display things like Udemy certificates, and a portfolio app where either images of applications can be posted, or better, video walkthroughs of projects can be posted. I just feel like that'd be such a valuable real-world project to be developing while learning Django.
