Docker for beginners (Udemy.com)

While I adored this course, I think that the title "Docker for beginners" is a bit misleading. - The course assumes prior sysadmin experience. (Example: Knowing what an environment variable is.) This my preference, but for beginner sysadmins, it might make certain things difficult to understand without even a brief explanation. - The focus is much more on Dockerfile than Docker CLI. As far as Dockerfile goes, I consider this the definitive introductory course for it on Udemy. Pros: - Teacher gets to the point and doesn't over-explain concepts. - Most of the videos are high quality. - Videos are organized well for the most part. Cons: - A few of the lectures, like "Understanding HEALTHCHECK" and "Understanding STOPSIGNAL", have terrible audio quality because the teacher is popping into the microphone. There are some parts of STOPSIGNAL where I can't understand which SIG he's referring to because there's too much popping. - Since so much of the course is centered around Dockerfile, it's a bit jarring to jump into the CLI without the use of Dockerfile during the discussion about persistent storage, then again when he discusses networking. (Can storage and networks not be managed with Dockerfile similar to a Docker Compose file? If not, then it's helpful to explain that.) - If you want to learn Docker CLI or Docker Compose, I'd recommend starting with a different course. Overall, fabulous course. Thank you for posting it.

The subjects are explained within few minutes, which is a good tging, but the interest of the command would gained to be situated back into the conception of a global Dockerfiles. IMO this course can be useful if you're looking for reference while you're learning docker, but it is not very telling on the uses of docker itself. Also, the contents is delivered with a very fast speech, which you may have some difficulty to understand sometimes, but nonetheless the technical message will be understood. A positive point is that you can add questions on where you were having product and they will get a satisfying response.

Crisp and clear explaination by giving small small examples on each topic so that students can easily understand and can implement by his/her own .

Short class, very direct and to the point, however concepts are not very clear, i have experience with docker and containers (lxc) / vms so i could jump right in however beginners might be confused. overall i love the quick and to the point learn as we go style keep it up!

This is a great review of the docker commands. I really hope you expand and do more short tutorials on the other commands as well, especially with all of the updates.

As long as this course if free, I would say it gives very general basic information about the commands used in Docker. Definitely, it does not worth the time and there are much better Docker courses at Udemy nowadays.
