Course Description
The most comprehensive course on Docker is here. Our course covers all the aspects and features you need to know before starting your next project or moving your software to a docker based system.
Docker is an open-source tool that allows developers to wrap their codes into small containers or packets, along with everything that would be required for the code to run. This code can then be shipped to any other system (regardless of its operating system and supporting hardware), and be deployed on that particular system. Along with the software, Docker containers also include code, runtime, system tools, system libraries, and etc. in the container itself.
Sounds amazing, right? A portable software that runs on every environment without having to create virtual machines? We think so too! So, we designed this Docker course to help you learn Docker from scratch.
Designed for beginners, this course holds no presumptions. You do not need to know about Docker, containerization or even virtual machines. You only need to know simple Linux commands, that’s it!
Everything else will be covered in this comprehensive course.
You will learn a basic introduction to DevOps, containerization, a background of Docker including what is Docker and its role in today’s tech driven world. You will learn how to download and install Docker, learn about its command line, understand the container environment, build a container from scratch, understand how a Docker container operates including storage, networking, mitigating risks, different types of containers, using memory, packing software within containers, automation, distribution, etc.
At the end of this course, you will have a clear understanding of what is Docker and how you can use Docker to simplify developing and testing software and even apps. So, what are you waiting for? This course is just what the ‘Docker’ ordered!

I'm a developer and haven't learned anything new so far. Additionally, I was displeased at some of the broad statements made about never being able to "go back" in waterfall that are, frankly, untrue. I expect that the Docker specifics will be much more helpful.

So far, hes explaining what Docker is, and also explained what agile work flow is. I don't understand why he is explaining what Agile is, if this is supposed to be a class on Docker. After looking at some questions from the class, it looks like the instructor doesn't show how to install Docker on different operating systems besides the Ubuntu version he is running. In my experience, instructors will take the time to make videos to show their students can the software on different OSs - instead, the TA just throws a link at the students. If Docker can't be run on Windows, or some obscure linux distro, the instructor should say this at the beginning of the course so that students can get their money back if this class won't work for them.

For me this was an excellent Docker Training Class. It takes you from zero to hero. Started out walking through Docker from install to real world app. If you are looking to learn Docker from the ground up this class will get you there. I have used what I have learned so far in troubleshooting staging and production issues. I will continue to work on reviewing this material again and doing the demo’s to increase my skills. Thanks and Happy Learning.

This course is going to help me with my livelihood and my working activities as a traveling programmer. I needed this course to help me understand the intricacies of the devops facilitation; working with this is just right for my learning style, for I am always looking for ways to improve how I work, and to increase my marketability and productivity. Thanks.

The course name and the content simply does not match. This course is focused on beginners and novices in Linux world and Docker; definitely not for Professionals. The usage of words, terminology and explanations is sometimes misleading. The "practical" examples will lead you to treat Docker containers as "easy-to-use" virtual machines, which is just one of the anti-patterns that you can learn in this course.

This was an EXCELLENT course. The material covered provided me the quickest way to get immersed in Docker. And while it is an introductory course it takes you through many aspects of Docker to give you a really good understanding of how it works and how to use it. The pace of the instructor was perfect; he was fast enough that I found my mind didn't have a chance to wander (I had to pay careful attention at all times otherwise I would have to pause the video).

It was a very basic class. It's organization in the beginning was suspect. If I didn't already know so much about Docker, I definitely would have been confused. For me, I got the impression that this was NOT a course with bare bones basics about Docker. It didn't teach me much. I learned more faster by reading the Docker web pages.

This is a solid well structured course with good explations of the concepts involved. There are many examples that you can follow along with and experiment with the material taught. The lessens, though, have no graphical material to illustrate the concepts being learned and the explanations are very dry and a little tedious. What is really missing, though, are the quizes at the end of the sections, which makes it difficult to check whether the material was understood or not.

The lectures are clear, in-depth and straightforward. I learned a lot of good information that is very applicable to what I need. Possibly the only fault I see, is that there are times when the lecturer describes things entirely verbally and kind of waves the sprite around when a diagram would have brought it home and made it clearer. Otherwise, I really recommend this series.
