This is a free, short course of follow-along cartoon drawings, mostly cute animals, from ocean creatures to safari animals and a few sweets. Em Winn is an elementary classroom and art studio teacher with over 20 years of experience, and reviewers praise the pacing. The syllabus is 37 lectures and just under two hours, split into nine short sections. Udemy asks that a parent buy and supervise, and the sweet spot, according to one reviewer, is preschool through about third grade.

Reviewers say the videos are slow and clear enough to draw along with in real time, and one adult who calls herself a terrible drawer says the results still came out cute. The 4.7 rating across about 5,000 reviews is mostly five stars. Complaints are mild. One older student found it childish, one wanted human faces, one asked for color suggestions, and a two-star reviewer felt the finished drawings looked worse than freehand. One person reported laggy video.

It costs nothing, so the risk is a couple of hours. Beside the other drawing courses it sits with, this is the one aimed at children, and the syllabus shows no theory lessons at all. Treat it as a fun activity rather than art training. For a young beginner or a shy adult who wants a win on day one, it's an easy yes. Anyone wanting fundamentals should look at the longer courses instead.

This beginner drawing course with 25 cartoon characters is a great way to start learning. The step-by-step lessons are simple, fun, and easy to follow, helping beginners gain confidence fast. Ms. Em Winn was a good art teacher she made so many like cute cartoony fantastic drawings even some funny ones I think this course is suitable for pre - schoolers to elementary schoolers till grade 3 and it was the best thing about learning art once in a lifetime.

Brilliant course for my 6 year old. She enjoyed it so much. We sepnd about an hour each time and she can doodle up as much as she wants. She's now creating her own doodles with the skills she's learnt from this lesson.

This was a really fun course and I can see how it would be easy for children to follow along with. Also, the teacher has a very calm speaking voice and is very easy to understand. Would recommend for parents with children (bored or otherwise).

This is a really fun class as it helps someone who has done some drawing as well as writing as to drawing with curvy and straight lines. Relaxing as they go and seeing when they are done some pretty pictures. I am thankful for this class. It is also teaching me to relax when I draw and have some fun. :)

Loved the way Emm teaches and delivers the quirky style of drawing. Drawing for kids is not easy often they get confused with what real characters and shapes are and a good teacher who infuses the whimsy world to the drawing that adds interest, curiosity and seeing the world through the eyes of kids.
