ElasticSearch, LogStash, Kibana ELK #2 - Learn LogStash (Udemy.com)

This is not a bad course but it was kind of expectation mismatch for me. I wanted to learn Logstash in more details but this course only covered the basics. More demo and hands-on exercise would be good. Addition of various scenarios including multiple log sources and some complex filter usage would be very helpful.

It would have been 5/5 if you provided code snippets for some of the longer commands and sample configuration files. I like to follow along and type out the commands, so when I got to that section it was very slow and cumbersome to follow along. Likewise, supplying some sample log files that users could pipe into logstash would have made the demo really shine.

One of the reasons for purchasing a few Udemy courses involved trying to get an Elastic stack functioning. The courses have been valuable, and helped facilitate that objective. Because Elastic versions change so rapidly, it would be beneficial for students to know before they purchase which versions the course covers. Still the concepts are applicable to my Elastic stack. Great Job!

I am totally satisfied with this course. Also I loved it. It is also applicable to the real world. This Course instructor most experienced and active about courses which makes easy to understand. Thank you Manuj Aggarwal and Tetra Tutorials Team for their efforts. At last, I would like to recommend this course for everyone.

Greatly enjoyed the course, it helped me work through and solve a number of challenges I'd been having with setting up logstash. Am now interested in checking out the other two companion courses. Only possible thing of improvement would be including a module on filebeat.

The course is nice as a refresh if you know the topics. But for a new person, not having used LogStash before, it is too complex, sometimes going into details that were never explained. The teacher is sometimes jumping around several times before showing the next step. That is like "real life teaching", but for a training video I expect a straight forward approach. Question 2 in the quiz of Chapter 4 can be very confusing: csv is described as "filter" plugin in Section 16. But the question says it is an input plugin. In summary: nice for review, but not for newcomers.

Good course, but the text common to the Elastic Co LogStash Documentation could be better documented or referenced for notes. The slides and verbal commentary are good, but good notes will make this course a better take away for experienced professionals. Need examples beyond single threaded input and error handling.

In the best courses, they have downloadable lists for commands that are typed. iIn the case of postgres and jdbc the course could have had the list of inserts commands that we saw in the film so you would not have to type it in. Other than that the course is easy to understand and has lot of great information. It is only rated down, because the best courses do have downloadable scripts and informatoin, instead of having people search the video for information.

The course is ok. It has some sections that are useful. But don't waste time, skip the first couple of intros and intro to the intros. What is annoying a bit is that the course lecturer and his team focus too much time and energy on pushing us to leave a good rating. But that should not be a good lecturer's focus. He should focus on high quality learning content. Good ratings come as a result of it, you don't ask for it. We already have decided to learn logstash, we don't need a sales pitch for it. No one pays money to find out what they may need to foster their career or project. We are here and have paid money because we made that decision already. I want real case walkthroughs and examples. Not a prayer on how it is going to help grow my career. I know I am being too harsh but w/ the intent that the next course may reflect my and many other viewers opinion on that. Having said that I can confirm that the lecturer is knowledgable and has some good insights to share.

This is an awesome course. If you want to learn (digest) Logstash over breakfast, as I did, this is the course for you. It goes through the mundane and necessary explanations in a very accessible way. Yes there are some repetitions but the content is insanely accessible and digestible. Manuj gives plenty of examples as he progresses through the course. For those concerned about the out of date content, I think Manuj is working on updating the content to 5.x. This lecture taught me everything i need to know about logstach and how it is related to kibana and elastic search.. Keep up with the video. Very explanatory
