I gave the course Excel at Teaching English: Be a Better ESL Teacher a 5/5 rating because it delivered exactly what I needed as an ESL trainer—clear structure, practical strategies, and engaging content that I could apply immediately in the classroom. Here’s why it stood out: Insightful breakdowns of grammar and teaching techniques made complex topics feel manageable and teachable. The course offered real classroom examples and activities, which helped me visualize how to implement the methods with actual students. ️ I appreciated the toolbox-style approach—tons of ready-to-use ideas for teaching tenses, vocabulary, and learner engagement. It was designed for both new and experienced ESL teachers, so I felt supported no matter where I was in my journey.

The course overall was great and I'm very glad I took part in it. The tenses section was useful, I got to revise everything. The adjectives and adverbs part was a bit funny, too easy of a grammar to put in I think. Other than that, the activities, articles and lectures were very engaging, I really liked the section about the kinds of learners and how to work with each of them. I highly recommend this course. :)

Simple content which is more suitable for students rather than teachers and not motivating at all!!!

Good Morning, I am a retired Construction Engineer and I decided to retrain in online English teaching. I have completed two courses so far the Cambridge Assessment English course and the TEFL/TESOL course. I am well read in History and Archeology and believe I can assist people trying to improve their English language skills. My second language is Afrikaans as I schooled in South Africa and it is only spoken here.

In my experience, my language teachers used a wide range of strategies mentioned. I believe that all language learning methods have a place in learning a language. I have found that taking an eclectic approach to language teaching and learning to be quite successful.

I have a TEFL certificate , which I have put to good use for over 2 years . I primarily teach adults one on one , which is my preference ! So far this course has been comprehensive and structured, with a solid foundation! I look forward to studying further, especially my weakness, which is grammar!

I think that overall the course is well designed. The instructor is clear and explains things well. I especially found useful the parts about teaching methods, types of learners, how to apply elicitation, and ways to present new language. However the parts on tenses were not useful to me at all, since they explained how the tenses work. If you have been teaching for a while, you already know how to use and explain all of these tenses. Also, there were a few mistakes on the slides, and I think the video should have been reshot in these cases. I would only recommend this course if you have very little teaching experience and you want to start your ESL journey. Then this course would probably be useful to you.

The course was well-presented in a simple and comprehensible manner. The inclusion of some humor was entertaining. For ESL teachers who need guidance to teach grammar, the tips provided in the course look simple and do-able. Overall I enjoyed this course and am certain of using this course as a reference for my teaching plans.

The explanations were very clear and easy to understand. Lots of examples using visual and auditory methods. This course really gave me a clear understanding of the basic grammar needed to start teaching ESL as well as how to teach it to students. The teacher provides lots of resources and easy to follow instructions. I feel ready to begin with students now. Thank you.
