Course Description

In this course we’ll be learning about excel formulas and have a lot of fun while we are at it.

This course is for Beginners who are just starting with Excel formulas and hopefully, by the end of course gain enough knowledge to be able to use formulas in their day-to-day activities.  We will start with Cell References, and then move on to different types of formulas, functions such as Logical functions, text Functions and Lookup functions.  All the topics have associated Excel Workbook resources containing sample problems to solve, puzzles, games and real-world practice questions to practice on.

To conclude, work on a mini-project to build a dashboard for an imaginary software development firm.

Happy Learning!

Pros: I wish I had this introduction 20 years ago. I am not a heavy user of Excel, but it would have been very helpful to know the terminology and caveats of these features. Cons: The quizzes and in-spreadsheet exercises do not reveal the formula being tested for. This is particularly a problem when the formula is complex. However, it is >90% confined to the final "Mini Project" spreadsheet.

Wow, I'm having a great time learning this lecture because it's so exciting and keeps me entertained throughout. It is well worth enrolling in this lecture because it allows us to fill our leisure time with knowledge while also having fun and satisfaction.

This is the first Excel tutorial that I've seen that has games and is so INTERACTIVE. I love it and I'm excited to keep going!

Average beginner 'free' course, good instructor. Some lessons need to be longer than 1-3 minutes. Another thing, the resource module numbers do not match up with the corresponding lesson numbers, and could be confusing for actual beginners. Overall a fine course to get someone started.

The topics covered and the information given is extremely useful, however when talking through things it would have been nice to have a excel visual of what was being discussed. Also the sample spreadsheets aren't working which is frustrating when you are only learning

I love the tests after each section. They are much more creative and well thought out. Really enjoying this class and having fun.

This is what teachers in schools should do ... only basic functions but probably the most commonly used ones. Thank you, it was great to listen to.

This was great practice. The presentation was engaging and helped me to learn a lot. One thing I would add is a bit more detail in the instruction on some of the lessons. Some of them used functions that were never mentioned in the brief video intro.

By Nathan Sasek on 6/15/2017

The course overall is informative about Excel functions and formulas. The hands on exercises help reinforce what you learned during lecture. The pass fail indicators for the exercises and mini project did not work for me. Also some tasks are based on date and do not work without being able to change the date but you can't because the spreadsheets are in read only. If some of these issues were corrected I would give a higher rating.

If you are looking for basic formula and function info with very good exercises, then this course is yours! The exercises don't support other languages at this moment except English. So if you have for example Dutch excel, you'll need to find the formula names for yourself. But Mumshad is working on it! Thank you for the course! ;-)
