Stan Prokopenko
My name is Stan Prokopenko, Iâm an artist and teacher. Proko is a resource for artists to get good art instruction videos. When you watch Proko tutorials youâll notice that I try to make them entertaining while keeping them educational. I feel that if youâre having fun and enjoying the learning process, you learn better. You retain more information, you pay more attention, youâre much more likely to continue learning and more likely to go back and re-watch tutorials. And it will leave you more inspired and motivated to go practice. I think that making learning fun is good in every way and thatâs why itâs at the core of Proko. If fun and informative had a baby they would name it Proko.

Honestly I've paid for the Proko courses and I haven't used them as much as I'd like (just due to my personal motivation), but yes they are definitely worth it. The amount of detail that is covered, as well as the structure of the lessons, it's pretty much everything you would need to draw portraits, figures, or anatomy realistically. It's high quality and if you have the money, I would recommend it in a heartbeat over other lessons or learning tools I've bought.

Definitely learn from Proko. Realistic figure is useful for all types of characters, even cartoon.

This guy makes extremely instructional videos. I think he is funny & serious at the same time.

I've personally purchased the Figure Drawing Fundamentals premium course myself and I have to say that it helped me improve my skills significantly. The premium videos have more in-depth explanation yet are still manageable, plus there is a lot of content.

I’ve made no secret of my admiration for Proko’s online teaching - it is the most useful and clearly explained of any I know, and very affordable

There are quite a number of online figure drawing courses but only a few stand out. I personally recommend proko’s course as he has tons of free tutorials already and the paid ones are for in-depth learning:Proko

I highly recommend checking out Proko as a supplement to your drawing curriculum, especially if your work includes the figure. It’s affordable, accessible, and very comprehensive. Personally I wouldn’t start here if you’re an absolute beginner. The figure is a difficult subject no matter what your level of experience, and attempting the figure when you’re first starting out is sort of like being asked to play Paganini after being handed a violin for the first. The result will not be pretty and might discourage you from persisting. Then again, I’ve heard many successful artists say they started out by copying Marvel superheroes and anatomy books, so if you feel comfortable with the material, go for it. There’s a multitude of online figure and anatomy courses out there to choose from. Proko is definitely a strong contender.

I've only just started this course and am looking forward to seeing how this affects my work! I'll be sharing my progress and studies here with you, as well as a follow-up review of the overall course when I am finished with it. So far, I am very impressed by the thought and care put into providing such well-priced and detailed learning resources for artists and I expect to learn a lot from this course!
