Course Description
Using Fusion 360 to make parts for CNC machines has just got easier.
Do you own a CNC router?
Maybe you are a CNC machinist wishing to make parts using CAD/CAM.
Whether you are a hobbyist or a professional,
this course will teach you how to use Fusion 360 to produce parts for your CNC machine.
Fusion 360 is free for hobbyists, startups and makers. Its the perfect CAD/CAM system for CNC.
Fusion 360 has lots of features that can be overwhelming. This course ignores all the fluff and focuses on the parts of Fusion that are needed to produce a finished product for a CNC machine.
Written by a machinist for machinists.
This course starts by getting you familiar with the parts of Fusion that are needed to produce a component on a CNC machine.
Then we jump right in and make our first model, each step is explained as we sketch using constraints and best practices.
Next is CAM, Computer-aided manufacture. In this section, we decide how we will machine the part and create the tool paths to produce excellent results every time.
Wish to do engraving? I cover that too!
Learn how to import DXF files and turn vector graphics into G-Code files.
Once you have a feel for Fusion we get stuck into a more complex part.
We look at 3D milling roughing cycles, how to use finishing passes correctly and how to adjust our CAM tool paths to do exactly what we need to produce a great part on our CNC machine.
If you are a CNC machinist, hobbyist or professional, this course is made for you.

I entered into the world of CNC Machining in 1991 as an apprentice for British Aerospace. After a four year apprenticeship I spent the following 26 years programming, operating and setting a full range of CNC Machines, including Lathes and milling machines.
I specialise in programming FANUC and Heidenhain machine tool operating systems up to 12 Axis.
My main roles involved hand coding at the machine instead of using CAD/CAM software.

The course provides very basic techniques for CAD/CAM. By the time I got through the first half of the course, I started to get well ahead with my own model and tried several other cycles, not mentioned in the course. Overall, very basic course, which almost expects you to go out there and experiment on your own at the end. Also, the course glosses over any details that are in the cycle parameters. I wish it explained them more.

I've been sitting for the last year and a half with a brand new cnc router machine in my shop with all these ideas of items to make yet not knowing how to use it. These courses are giving me the confidence to practice with the software and hopefully soon I will be confident enough to create my first project. G-Code Tutors instructor is very thorough on how things are explained and one is able to follow along and absorb the concepts of the processes. Appreciate classes like this that allow a person to invest time into learning the proper ways of using tooling and software that takes special training for yet do not want to train at a trade school or university.

Excellent, the tutor broke down the topic into easy to understand chunks, I was quite intimidated by the idea of CNC having had a lot of time designing, but this course gave me the information and confidence I needed to keep pushing and learning in the CNC direction. Highly recommended.

This is now the 3rd course I have taken of Marcs and again I have gotten the results I hoped for. Marc has a very clear way of teaching that makes sense, isn't boring, and keeps attention. I plan on taking the vast majority of his courses and hope he makes more in the future. Thanks, Marc!

This course explained the fundamentals, with respect to machining and Fusion. Unfortunately the material is somewhat dated, with respect to menu's and functions available in the current version of Fusion. Also, there is no material on importing designs done in other software. As a machinist, I am asked to use engineering designs in other non-fusion 3D formats.

The course is very well put together and easy to follow. It gave me a good understanding of how to program a CNC mill with Fusion 360. I would have liked to see in the tutorial how to reorient the part in Fusion 360 for machining in a 3 axis machine. Perhaps that is something that could be added in the future. All in all a very useful course and good value for the money.

The course is good but assumes the student knows about their CNC machine already. A little frustrating as it took me a lot of trial and error to set up my little GRBL machine on Fusion. Some times the lesson order is confusing. E.g in lessons 13 and 14 the teacher talks about the line tool in depth even know this has been covered in prior lessons. The software has been updated since the recording and some elements dont work in the same way. E.g the first CAM Lesson the pocket function is different and requires the user to select the base walls and not just the pocket to not throw back an error. Although easy now, this took time on google and fault finding as doing what was taught would throw up an error. I did learn lots from the course but feel that maybe its time to review and update the content as well as offering more support in the Q&A section of the course as support here was not always very good. All in all im pleased i bought the course but i am happy it was during Black Friday- at this cost i feel was value for the content.

I found the course detailed and well organized. For me, I found watching two or three lectures at a time first, followed by a 20 minute coffee break, then starting Fusion 360 on my computer and rewatch the lectures on my IPad. Duplicating Marc’s techniques in real time was the best way for me to learn the material.

The reason why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because like all these video courses there is no PDF files to down load. What I mean by that is mastercam has downloadable lessons that are step by step of what the instructor has just covered. So you can go back over what was just covered and do it yourself. Lets face it you can't stop and open up fusion 360 and go back and forth. I don't know why Autodesk does things like this but it's not right. Even courses in colleges will not make it easy to learn. Dont get me wrong the instructors are very knowledgeable. PDF break downs in lessons of what is said should be standard.
