Course Description
This course covers a bunch of algorithms I use in my games when designing and making npcs to fight the player or fight with the player. These are things like vision systems for handling vision cones and line of sight, aiming systems for aiming at targets with set turn speeds, homing missiles, leading shots when firing projectiles with and without gravity, accuracy systems to simulate more realistic accuracy when leading shots, optimized pathfinding for hundreds of npcs, teams and group battle systems for npcs to engage in large-scale battles with each other, and state machines to simulate behaviours like patrolling, guarding, attacking, and dying. This course is for the Godot engine, though if you're a somewhat experienced programmer you could probably translate the code over pretty easily. There's a new stupid unhelpful 'feature' that requires me to have two hundred words in the description which is completely pointless and wastes people's time so here's some extra words that add literally nothing but help me reach the word count required which some dumb executive probably decided would make courses on this site look more professional when in reality professionals want short and to-the-point content without stupid arbitrary requirements. This course is designed to be clean and to-the-point as much as possible and has a unique lesson-based approach in which I provide partially set-up game scenes with a defined problem to be solved (such as leading shots on a moving target). I then go through and explain how to write the necessary algorithms to solve this problem.

I have been making games as an independent game developer for almost seven years now. I've made 2d and 3d games of all genres, from horror to puzzle. I've also been drawing, painting, and 3d modelling for games for nearly 8 years now. For the past year and a half I have been a content creator on Youtube, making learning materials for other game developers.

To be honest the tutor does not do a very good job at explaining things, and the tutorials are not made in the current version of Godot which requires some time to fiddle with some syntax. Not only that, some topics are also made with not so good practices. I would not recommend this course sadly, I do find the topic very interesting though.

Lesson was clear and understandable with good insight as to why things were done a certain way and possible alternate solutions, but I had to download an older version of Godot to follow along.

Its not beginner friendly but if you have 1000+ hours of experience in Godot then this course is a gold mine for you. The mechanism are explained very well and snippets are very useful in your projects.

It does what it says on the tin - covers the fundamentals of game AI using Godot engine. Would recommend, especially for the examples. They provide excellent starting points for your own coding journey.

Great course. Maybe the only topic it lacks is AI Traffic Systems. All the topics are well paced and teach you important Game AI information. Was pleasantly surprised by many of the lessons' focus on game optimization. Learned a bunch of cool things about how to optimize various processes related to the movement of ai. Overall, it's a very dense and knowledge-heavy course; and I'd recommend it to any game dev or programmer. .

very good modular system for AI in the godot engine, best one ive seen so far! just not for your average beginner

A little on the fast side but that's what the pause and rewind were invented for. This guy clearly knows his stuff and explains everything to a good degree. Happy to have paid for his work and would do so again if the topic interested me

Courses that cover more than the basics or fundamentals are really rare and even more rare is a course that focus in depth on a particular aspect of games development. This has some great content!

Presents the content in an easy to understand way. A little fast at times, but there are tools to help if you fall behind. I like the “skip the filler” approach to the course.

Miziziziz always delivers high-protein, low-fat tutorials that don't waste your time. Looking forward to implementing these in my game. Lessons 7&8 get pretty mathematical, but complete understanding of the formula is not required to get the feature working. PS - On Lesson 6, the start project is already completed
