I lead Digital Transformation & Architecture at ABB and I've been featured on CNBC Africa and won the Gartner CIO Of The Year in 2016. I founded and led the largest banking hackathon in South Africa which was published in 2019 as a case study by Harvard Business School.
I've taught over 100,000 students about technology, business, academics and self-development. In 2020 I completed my PhD at Wits University In Johannesburg. I do understand that "repetitio est mater studiorum", but in this case it did not work well. Section 5 is unnecessary - it can be replaced by Section 6. Section 6 can is OK, but last 15 of webinar is just an advertisement of Author other activities. It would be more beneficial to dive deeper into Kanban e.g. how to divide epic into tasks or how to manage unexpected events/work.

Admittedly, I'm what you call scattered brain, I have gone through other lectures on Kanban, and only here that I learned that I was doing it the wrong way. It walks you through the basic principles of Kanban and how to effectively use it as a beginner. I have heard that it's a great tool to complete tasks and I became excited about it but making it work for me often fails. The good thing about me and Kanban is that I never gave up on searching for the right material that will provide me clarity on how to get started with Kanban. This lecture help me peel off my challenges with Kanban. So, if you're looking for beginners Kanban, this course is definitely for you.

Thank you, Peter! I liked this course because it explains the principles and concepts very clearly, it's easy to follow and I could integrate it well into my daily '30 minutes of self-actualization' calendar slot. It turned out I was already applying most if not all of the principles demonstrated, I just didn't have a formalized method of tracking the various stages of tasks in my (professional and private) projects. Will certainly use the JIRA/Trello Kanban boards I set up for both categories going forward.

I was expecting more than what the course offered. The course basically told me what I already knew in Kanban. Being a Project Manager doing Scrum, I was expecting this to dive deeper into the subject explaining the nuanced differences between this and Scrum. I was hoping to learn about the Definition of Done and Ready from a Kanban perspective along with the possible metrics and setting up Jira in a bit more detail. This was pretty much on the surface. I guess it is more targeted at students than professionals. However, the course was pretty good for the basic introduction of Kanban principles. It was a good refresher for me. Thanks!

The material relevant to the stated topic of the class (mostly section 2) is good even if repetitive, and my workflow is now smoother and better organized. I can't give 5 stars due to the inclusion of a lot of material aimed at student time management, i.e., not Kanban boards. Minus the author's cross-promotion, this could have been a 5-star class in less than an hour. Happy I took this class, but it could use some focus.

great basics. Could be less repetitive towards the middle with the live 1hr sessions. I liked the basics of this, but definitely a very very simple overview. EXCELLENT for educators and more of college or highschool students that just need to learn basics of organization. I was looking for something a lot higher level structured.

This training looks like a "mash" between A) Kanban basis videos and B) excerpts from a previous course targeted to students, who could take advantage of Kanban practices. The First section is lacking some crucial elements of Kanban (some are explored later on, to be fair), suggests some questionable behaviors (moving work back in To Do) and fails in providing a good view on Flow Metrics. The second part is quite fragmented (some "lessons" are less than 1 minute long), clearly cut-outs from previous material. Since the content is overall good, I humbly suggest some revamping, in order to obtain a better flow, ensuring a smoother fruition, especially for newbies.

Initially, I found it overwhelming to get certain tasks done due to the large workload. Now, after this course, I have learned to compartmentalize and work systematically on tasks. It's less daunting when you tackle a task by breaking it down and tracking the progress rather than looking at it in its entirety
By Heinz Holzapfel on 11/17/2020
As I have used Kanban prior it was a good exercise in testing to what extent I had applied the principles under this topic. The course material is parsimonious, yet detailed enough not to be an introduction. The practical involvement drives the principles home (specifically the JIRA and Trello exhibits). As a short course I'll recommend this with confidence.
