the version of github that i have was different than the one in the video so it made it difficult to follow and took me way longer to do somethings. I could not get the new branch to create on github.com not sure if it is a version thing or I consistently was missing something

Felt like this was a good overview of the basics. I also appreciated the resource references (cheat-sheet, GitHub Desktop, cygwin) and the (quick) comparison to Bitbucket as an alternative. It was a good, quick course to get me started using git.

Simple and straight to the point. Ideal for people with little time to spare. This course, so far, adheres to the 80/20 rule. I think this course is the 20% I need for 80% of the cases in which I use Git.

I was trying to find a very to the point walk through of GitHub buzz. This short course gave me what I want. It would have been great if also covered Git Desktop version but anyways I'm assuming that will be a easy task once core concepts are clear. Thanks again for this course.

Laurence is always great. I've taken a few courses with him. If you're short on time and looking for a nice explanation of GitHub and how it works, this is the course for you. It was useful and really easy to understand.

Concise, clear and to the point. Goes over the basics to get people going/started. I would recommend adding more content and examples and discussing how to revert to a previous commits and how to tag different software versions on a master branch.
By Soph Doiron on 6/8/2017
Would have liked to have more of a visual of branching when it was being shown. I was left with a lot of unanswered questions. Relatively not bad of a training until merging via Github examples. Would have loved to learn of some recommendations for tools to use.

Saludos. El curso empieza muy bien, te va llevando de la mano, pero conforme avanzas, las explicaciones, desde mi punto de vista, dejan mucho que desear. Hay que tener cierta experiencia con Git para comprender lo que el instructor trata de transmitirte. Gracias

The course does a good job of going over the different git commands, but some parts may be confusing or misleading for inexperienced users. There are easier ways to resolve merge conflicts for example, and making changes to files via the GitHub website is not good practice.

I had used git before in a class and forgot. This is a great course for beginners. Only suggestions would be explain a bit more about how people should be in the right directory and maybe slow down a little bit. Really enjoyed it =)
