Tools used for front end development
There are several tools available that can be used to develop the front end of a website, and
understanding which tools need are best fit for which task means the difference between a hacked
site and well designed and scalable site.[3]
HyperText Markup language (HTML)
HyperText Markup Language is the backbone of any website development process, without which a
web page doesn't exist. It is the HTML code that provides an overall framework of how the site will
look. The latest version of HTML is called HTML5 which has new and efficient way of handling
elements such as video and audio files.
Cascading Style Sheets (CSS)
Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) controls the presentation aspect of the site and allows your site to
have its own unique look. It does this by maintaining style sheets which sit on top of other style rules
and are triggered based on other inputs, such as device screen size and resolution.
JavaScript
JavaScript is an event-based imperative programming language (as opposed to HTML's declarative
language model) that is used to transform a static HTML page into a dynamic interface. JavaScript
code can use the Document Object Model (DOM), provided by the HTML standard, to manipulate a
web page in response to events, like user input.
Using a technique called AJAX, JavaScript code can also actively retrieve content from the web
(independent of the original HTML page retrieval), and also react to server-side events as well,
adding a truly dynamic nature to the web page experience.
Goals for Front end development
The developer of the front end keeps these points in mind, utilizing available tools and techniques to
reach this end.

Overall it was an amazing learning experience. The course content was clear, practical, and well-structured, making it easy to follow along and apply concepts through hands-on coding tasks like working with loops, inline styles, and DOM manipulation. While there's always room for slight improvements, especially in pacing anddepth in some areas, I found the course extremely helpful for building a solid foundation in web development... highly recommended for beginners and anyone looking to strengthen their frontend skills.

I think Lawrence did a great job of explaining web development in a way that made sense. JavaScript was the toughest section and the exercises in that section stumped me so I wish there was a way you could ask for help or hint. I ended up asking ChatGPT and I wouldn't have figured it out on my own. I think JavaScript should be its own course honestly. Great experience though!

Good overview of web development. I had some previous programming experience in college (30 years ago!) which helped me follow along, otherwise this might be a little challenging for someone with no background in coding. Just pause and rewind the videos, and take notes, as I did, and anyone can benefit from this course.

It was a good introductory course for me personally & I feel can be improved on content basis. Also the instructor can suggest some minor projects to be made.. like to tell the steps so that a beginner can make that minor projects on its own. Overall, it was a good course. Thank you!!

Very good and very informative. I really like how you explain for different things such as different text editors, the different html tags and why they may want to be used. I'm not yet finished but I believe every step will be well explained and allow me to understand even more. I've enjoyed the exercises which makes the course feel engaging.

Yeah I like this course for a few reasons. It has many short videos that are easy to watch, making it easy to absorb and then practice. However, the first section was a huge waste of time because it was really repetitive, which is why I didn't give it a 5 star.

Yes , I am in the introductory phase of web page development. Very good instruction. I am becoming acquainted with HTMLand CSS fundamentals. Can only imagine potential complexities. I now have base knowledge to understanding browser functionality. Great Job on the instruction. Thank You.

The course was well designed and the lecturer was very well-versed. The course was able to strike a balance between being concise and comprehensive, easy and substantive. Thank you, Laurence Svekis and Udemy for this free course.

I liked the HTML and CSS portions. The portions on JavaScript were more teaching how a C style language works with for, while loops and if-else if language constructs. I would have preferred more about how JS is integrated with HTML and the web. I appreciates how you did this in CSS but found that the JS content could be improved. The title of this course is a Web Developer course and hence JS taught should be more about its applications and synergy with the HTML than about the language itself.

Great course!!! I learned tons! It would benefit from a little more complex final result (the website) given that a lot of more complex commands are explained. At times the lessons are a little too long and become boring or difficult to follow. However, on the whole this is one of the best courses i followed on Udemy! Well done!
