Brian Jackson
Hello,
My name is Brian Jackson. I'm the author of about a dozen books, the publisher of well over 100 books, and a Udemy instructor with over 40 courses.
This is my story...
1 Origins
I was born in the middle of the last century in Los Angeles, California. I graduated from Humboldt State University, surrounded by the redwoods of Northern California. After 14 years at Lockheed Missiles and Space as an IBM system programmer and 12 years at Cisco Systems as a test engineer, I retired at 48.
I instantly became bored.
2 Community College
To break the boredom, I enrolled at Columbia Community College to take writing, art, acting and statistics classes. I took 24 units over one year and received straight “A”s.
I was still bored.
3 Writing and Self-publishing
I began writing fiction and nonfiction books and self-publishing them on Amazon, Barnes & Noble and Smashwords in July 2011. Though I wrote and published several books, my self-publishing business didn’t take off until my wife joined me.
4 My Wife and Author, Melanie Jackson
Melanie Jackson, my wife, was an author publishing over two romance novels per year through her New York publisher, Dorchester Press. After publishing 24 novels with Dorchester, the company folded, and Melanie was without a publisher (she wanted to write cozy mysteries anyway).

Great discussion of goals, both informational and motivational. All the information needed to take goals and persist them into reality. For me, I struggle with too many tasks/lists. They overwhelm me, and end up ignored. There is good information here, and hopefully with practice I can better overcome this barrier.

The course was easy to follow. The instructor is knowledgeable and fun with the subject matter. I think goals should include categories (e.g. Work, Family, Spiritual, Self). Long-term goals (10 years) should be reviewed yearly, midterm goals (5-1 years) should also be reviewed annually, and short-term goals (1week-6 months) should be reviewed weekly. These are just a few opinions of a PMP project manager...

I enjoyed this course because it provides a good base for setting goals and also provides interesting information about motivating yourself. I can start incorporating this right away! One of my favorite parts of the course was in the Bonus Section about making time each day to learn something. Thank you!!

Its good but very short. I really like you statement "if you dont know what is your goal then you should follow your hobbies". You can cover more topics. Notify me when come with next videos. I would love to watch. Thanks for publish this video for free

Course was very clear, well organized, simple to follow and straight to the point. People starting a new project or trying to achieve a certain goal will find this course interesting. To the instructor: Thank you for offering this course. I will be looking at your other courses.

So far the information is not anything I haven't heard before. The spelling and punctuation mistakes are distracting. I would prefer to have a video rather than a series of PowerPoints. On a positive note, the lessons are a good reminder of how to set goals.

Great course, great ideas. My first goal after this class is to watch this training again during morning hours, to listen to it again and most likely learn something I missed tonight. Lord willing, I will accomplish this. I wish that Brian would have given links to organization apps or programs that he may have used, which would be beneficial tools to his students. Thank you Brian.

I rather enjoyed this short course on goal setting. Mr. Jackson was funny, to the point, and laid out a very common sense plan for goal achievement. Maybe it's nothing new or revolutionary but, for some of us, being reminded is always a good thing. Going to keep his tips in mind (and this course bookmarked) for the upcoming NaNoWriMo.
By Wayne Riggle on 9/27/2016
Short presentation on fairly general and common-sense ways to set goals and follow through. A bit simplistic, but could be useful to some participants. Overall, I felt it was a bit too basic for my needs. It may, however, be more useful to other viewers.
